I am 18 years old and have made the committment to go to this. Both of my friends have said they won't be able to make it since one is not 18 yet and the other doesn't want to spend the cash. I'm hoping my girlfriend will attend with me but if she says no, i'll see you guys there!
ROTHBURY's the most amazing summer festival I have ever been to....we had the time of our life last year. The peeps very kynd and the vibe is so chill......so much to see and experience around every turn. The highlight of which was The Sherwood Forest. Our first walk through the Sherwood Forest that connects 3 separate venue areas....it was alive with peeps enjoying bright colored hammocks, white sail cloths in the tree tops, lights, lights and more lights with costumed fans running about the woods, within large pods scattered here and there for drum circles, guitar players, and friends meeting up and hanging out. Every night seemed to bring even more additions to the aready amazing atmosphere...and I hear there was even a secret stage, that I somehow missed but is on my list of things to do and find just as soon as I get back there! I can't wait!!! and my most favorite band is going to be there!!! THE DEAD :):):)
I am wondering if the hammocks were placed there for any/all to enjoy, or must one bring their own to string between the trees in the forest.
Anyone know?

Chief Woodstock promoter Michael Lang is planning two free Woodstock concerts in Berlin, Germany and in New York in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the original 1969 festival. According to the press release, the New York show still doesn’t have a venue, but will take place on the actual 40th anniversary of August 15th and 16th. The Berlin show will take place at the now-closed Tempelhof Airport on August 22nd and August 23rd.
Lang and his partners are hoping to snag some of the original participants that performed at Yasgur’s Farm back in ‘69, including Santana, the Who, Joan Baez, Joe Cocker, Grateful Dead, Country Joe and the Fish, as well as current top acts.
trying to put some folks together to go to what should be a grand finaly for the dead this summer
any cool old school dead heads only need respond, living in houston any one else down here .
Not to be a bummer, but man, I attended the woodstock 1999 and man, IT wasn't that KEWL at all!!! There was a mile and a half mural of paintings from the original woodstock 69 and people were just ripping them down, then crashing the fences. Granted it was $250.00 a ticket and way over advertised. They knocked down the MTV tower during limp biscuit and when the chillie peppers came on, ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!!! Vendors trailors gettin tipped over, people starting HUGE fires.... NOT A COOL SCENE AT ALL!!! It was in Albany NY on an airstrip. I'm not giving up faith for a FREE concert, maybe things will be different this time round.. I hope so.

Mickey played with planet drums on the second stage. Id love to get a copy of his set. I still have pictures of woodstock 99. I can remember paying 8 dollars for a bottled water!! TERRIBLE in my opinion.

I still have the newspaper clipping from it. It reads:
PEACE, LOVE, MUSIC, THEN ARSON, VANDALISM as WOODSTOCK ends
By John Kekis
*State police are needed to quiet melee that leaves 7 injured and 7 arrested
"It's a great shame that this happened because in so many ways, it was so uplifting." promoter John Scher said. " It puts a permanent blemish on what happened here. I think the kids made a mistake. They did not intend for this to happen."
Hope this one goes better. So long as they don't advertise it or commercialize it. Things shouldn't get to out of hand.
