This year's "Jerry Week" celebrations in San Francisco start with the traditional concert at McLaren Park on August 1 and culminate with a night at the ball park on August 9. Tribute bands, special section, Jerry bobbleheads and more! And it's a benefit for the Rex Foundation!
See the Rex Foundation site for details.
4 sure........
and people will think you're a local....
It IS a really nice park.
Originally Pac Bell Park, then SBC Park, now AT&T Park. You're not expecting a corporate name attached to ballpark...how about three of them? Wish I could be there wearing my Giants/Dead t-shirt that I picked up there in '02.
is not @ Candlestick......but I think it's still called the same....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candlestick_Park
I'm in 139 row 20 seat 20, if I'm reading it right.
Sounds like the bleachers! Lots of bobbleheads and a peculiar smell. What is Candlestick Park called these days?
Grateful Dead is to Baseball
as
___________ are to football
(dammit, another SAT question I messed up)
but we hope you'll be rooting for the Giants.....:))) xoxo see ya there-we'll be the ones having fun....
Gypsy: I have a spot reserved in Sec 139... use the Rex Foundation link for tickets. There are nose bleed tickets upstairs, too, but the thrill of yelling at the left fielder made me go bleachers.
I think they're putting us all in the Jerry Garcia Tribute section, whereever that is I'm not sure yet......Gr8fulTed-ya coming out???? don't forget yer baseball gloves....haha.....
Locations
The only time I was there, so it's forever Pac Bell for me. Nice ballpark (aside from the giant Coke bottle), nice to be able to walk around the concourse and check out McCovey cove. I bought that Stealie/Giants t-shirt that is pretty rare here on the east coast (often mistaken for a NY Giants shirt, despite the BASEBALL outline) -- I saw a guy wearing one at the Dead Greensboro show last year, so I had to stop him just to shake his hand.
I love baseball, love Jerry, would love to combine them somehow. But, no trips this summer, since my wife is having foot surgery and will be on the disabled list for a while.
Maybe next time..
