Are the streams from the Taper's Section not working for you?
Update: Before pursuing the issue further, please make sure you have the relevant media player, either QuickTime or Windows Media, properly installed on your computer. Not sure? Go here to download the latest player and follow easy installation directions:

We've seen/heard from several folks that the streams from the Taper's Section are not working for you. This forum topic is for you, then. Post here, and let us know what your basic set up is, what works and what doesn't work... whatever info you think might help someone else help you get it to work.
NOTE: this is not the place to discuss the change in policy and/or the lack of downloads. Really.
I just bought a new laptop, and couldn't get the streams to load this afternoon. Miss some Brent I hadn't heard before? Perish the thought! I was getting some weirdo error about some plugin that wasn't working so I finally went to Firefox's homepage and checked out their plugins. I found the one for Windows Media Player and fired it up for download. One reboot later, my WMP was happy, and I was streaming right along.
....so good, for me. I felt it necessary to post a positive about this section. I applaud the expanded format to include WMP 'cause here at work anything Apple is a strict "NO-NO" (which is complete bullshit but I can't do anything about that political crap). The selections are always a nice treat to look forward to, which helps me maintain myself in this crazy world. Thanks for lettin' the music play. Hope I didn't jinx myself, Doh!

Hey now,
I'm using Ubuntu 7.04, fully up to date, with mplayer and the ability to play windows media and quicktime files on my machine. However, the streaming players don't work. MP3's rocked, using a MP3 player such as the one on Archive.org works. The taper section has gone from being a Monday joy to a major bummer.

I am lucky to be in a position to listen to these streams and they are working ok for me in IE.
I am curious if there is any capability that anyone has discovered to be able to stream all of the selections from a given week in one session, or must one continue to hang out on the page and activate each item individually?
