Tape converters

I'm glad the subject of tapes came up because I, like everyone else here, has tapes sitting around that are gathering a lot of dust.
I saw a tape converter recently and was wondering if anyone had experimented with these. It plugs into your computer and converts the audio to mp3 files. I'm not sure how it would work with Dead shows though as I'm sure the converter would have difficulty picking out tracks with either an audience bootleg or songs running into each other.
Anyone have experience with these??
Here's a link if you are interested:

To reiterate, I have never tried this device nor am I promoting it in any way. Just wondering.

Good idea. I'll get to that just as soon as I get the Hampton shows in the mail. Should be today or tommorow.
Rock on.

I've got a good soundboard copy of the last night in Egypt, 9/16/78.
I'd be more than willing to trade you if you like.

Have Egypt, but....

I know a guy who was at those shows. I got copies of them (I would have 1st or 2nd gen).I have a dual cassette deck but its seen too many hours. Im still figuring out my setup on taking tapes and converting them to digital (see my post in tech discussions). Let me know if you get the digital SBD if its out there.

There's a version of R & C that plays as the background to the menu on View from the Vault 2 DVD - anyone know which show it was from?

If you begin with an attitude that is hopeless you won't be able to master it...If you LOVE this music, you can have pristine copies of almost anything in a month or so of casually learning it.I know, I did it with no computer experience AT ALL. You guys should check it out. Some sites are mentioned in this thread, go to 'em! You'll need a downloading client on your computer,a good one is utorrent! People will help you, trust me!
