    Pre-Sale Ticket Sales--I
Pre-Sale Ticket Sales--I Agree with OneGreatfulDad (A couple of posts back)...I was on the Dead.net site 2 hours before Pre-Sale started and it was only because I did that I could even get to the buying area (After waiting in the "Waiting Area" for two hours!)... Notice--The email I got was not very informative...It did not say anything about mail-order and kind of implied that we have to go through the website to order tix. The Dead.net website wasn't very informative. I felt like a Wharf-rat in a maze with a bunch of Dead ends. (after being 'ready' for 2 hours)...And there was no notice of mail-order at all! Access--The Dead.net server was all clogged up and the ticket server was also clogged up so finally after hours I got the seats they gave me-nosebleed seats on the Phil side behind the stage!!(On the Pepsi Center map it shows them as out of bounds!!) The Waiting Area-- has instructions specifying not to reload this page or you will lose your place in line...Then it goes on to reload the page every minute or so automatically (WTF!) Eventually kicking me off the server completely (thereby theoretically losing my place "in line")...??? Choosing seats--In another browser tab I continued to search for seats and finally got through to the buying website. (2 hours after sales opened!) When I finally got to order tickets, I clicked on the venue link to see where they were on the map-big mistake! (Meanwhile I was still 'waiting in line' in the 'waiting area' in another tab) The Map-Pepsi Center has separate seating charts for each show (But none posted for The Dead) So I checked the Seating for the Metallica show (which was in the round) ...By the time I go to the Pepsi Center/Denver website and find the seating chart I get back to the ordering page and my seats were gone (or it got rid of me because I was too slow) (This was the first set of seats, this happened 3 times before I got seats) Not to mention that the seats I first got (section c) were not even listed on the map! (there were Sections CCC and CC but I didn't find C!) Choice-It was you get these seats and you don't get any other choice (you get the seats we give you-one shot!)-no choice/for a hundred bucks!?!...before the sale, The faq on dead.net specifically says that you can order more tickets if you go through the process again (Which I tried to no avail)... Ticket Allotment--and you are supposedly allotted 6 tickets per order (that was not the case, after getting one set of tickets you cannot go back and get more)... So in the end, I found the GDTSTOO website and sent for mail-order tix...and I'm praying for a 'miracle seat'to replace my Phil Zone Nosebleeds!! I can only imagine how others did at this... Gorkinoff (Deadhead Forever!) P.S. Then there is the 1000 miles I have to drive from South Dakota to Denver! (Can't wait to see all you guys there!!!) Goin' down the road feelin' bad...Don' wanna be treated this a-way...Woohoo!

Grateful Dead Ticket Sales will be honoring mail order requests. You still might be lucky with postmark 1/14, if you neglected to do one today. On 1/23 Ticketmaster will be offering tickets too. When I started going to Grateful Dead shows in 1972 it was not uncommon to show up at the last minute and still end up leaning on the stage in front of Bobby, Jerry or Phil. Back then, Donna was very mezmerizing and impressive with her stage presence. I encourage all of you to keep trying to acquire tickets, so you can witness the music playing the band.

With Papa in Grad school and me now a stay at home mom (both teachers), we're just looking for the cheaper seats [or a kind miracle ;^) ] to enjoy the show. I could chime in with the rest about costs but in reality, everyone is in a tuff place right now. If you have Albany extras, please shoot me a msg. Thanks. Peace, Love & Light-Kim

I went through the nightmare of the pre-sale tickets also. I finally won after an hour and three computers later! Only problem is I got an extra set just to be safe. So now I have an extra set of floor seats for sale. I'm only asking face value plus the service costs and shipping. It's section C row 42. PM me if you are interested.

    Shoreline Reserved Seats Wanted!
Well, I have to say that this was one of my worst ticket buying experiences ever! Don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic that the Dead are touring and hope they keep doing so! I'm just highly disappointed with the way this ticket sale worked and especially with the results! First, some background. I've worked for a ticket agency before. I have also run overnight ticket lines many times managing over 250 people in line at times. I have been to 366 concerts including 201 Dead and 36 Jerry (I'm deadicated as you can tell by my email address, I own skullandroses.com). I worked at Winterland Productions, was on BGP's will call list, have done mail order over 100 times, etc. I was acquaintances with many in the Dead family including Wavy, Gans and Kesey to mention a few and have met everyone in the band except Mickey and Phil (my hero). I have used computers since the early '80's and am a graphic artist and web designer. My computer is very recent and fast, my connection is via satellite. So, I'm not trying to boast, I'm simply pointing out that I'm not a novice at ANY of this. Now, I don't usually get upset when I don't get great seats... it happens (not often, but it happens). But this time it's special. I went through the 1989 SF Earthquake, then my store/business (Telegraph Ave in Berkeley) was ruined in the August 1991 Berkeley Riot and two months later I almost died and did lose everything I owned in the East Bay Hills Firestorm. I have had severe Post Traumatic Stress and have never been back there since. Well, these days, I'm a single dad of a 9 year old girl (an aspiring musician who has seen the dead, string cheese, mickey, grisman, dark star orchestra and Franti twice (she even got to dance and sing with him on stage once!)! We have never, ever had a real vacation. We've never been able to afford it. So, for this special event, we planned on a road trip where I could show her where my stores were, where I lived, the Greek Theater, where I lived when the fire happened, (maybe, if we're lucky, hit G.A.in San Jose (shhh)), etc. that she's heard so many stories about, including my vending inside Shoreline and how special that place is to me. So, even though it would really hurt financially, I was going to get the reserved seats to make it special for both of us and because I have a bad back and can't do that lawn. That's why I had EVERYTHING ready to go at exactly the moment that they went on sale. I tried to get 2 reserved seats for Shoreline, specifically, up front, as I usually do (even at MSG I never sat beyond the 3rd row). I was logged in prior to 9am pacific time and I point out that my computer is set to-the-second with the Official U.S. time. At precisely 9:00:02 I clicked on the link for tickets. Nothing. I tried again... nothing. That's when the nightmare began... Nothing on the ticketing site would work! I texted my friend and he was having trouble getting the pages to load as well. It took me literally over half an hour just to get to the first page that asks you how many tickets you want! AARRGGHH! After ordering 2 reserved and also 2 lawn tickets as a back-up, I had to battle with the security code that never wanted to appear on the page. When it finally decided to show itself several minutes later, the page told me that there were not enough reserved seats available. I only wanted TWO! Are you kidding me? Server problems and all, yet it's sold out in that short amount of time? Is Obama coming? So, with regret, we had to settle for lawn seats. Sigh.... It took almost an hour after I first clicked the link at 9 o'clock to complete what should have taken 5 minutes at the most. Needless to say, it has put a major damper on our trip as this show is going to be the climax of only our second trip ever that's over 1-1/2 hours away from our home (the first one being the Dead show at the Gorge in '04). The trip is going to be difficult enough for me financially and emotionally and now, even though I'll be happy to just be there and among my 'family', I have to look forward to a night of inferior sound, won't be able to see shit and a painful back. We really, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wish that the site worked properly this morning.... it ruined what could have been a perfect ending to a bittersweet trip.... At least we're in the gates...... sigh.... But, I am still going to look for tix up front. Please let me know if you can help. I can trade the lawn tix and cash, barter, whatever! It would mean a LOT to us! OneGratefulDad skullandroses.com netbrandsinc.com Inspiration...Move me brightly....Light the song with sense and color, Hold away despair...

I've been randomly looking for tickets to shows on the tour and have had plenty of luck. In some cases, the seats are nosebleeds, while others appear to be in the loge (which ain't bad). While most shows are being handled by Ticketmaster, there are six that are not. So, follow these directions and you will be connected directly to the agencies that are licensed for the following performances: (1) If you want Shoreline tickets, call 877-598-8497. (2) If you want to go to the Albany or Buffalo shows, call 888-223-6000. (3) If you're trying for either of the two the Philadelphia shows, try calling 800-298-4200. (4) For Charlottesville tix, call 800-594-8499. If the show you want to go to is being sold on Ticketmaster - keep trying, every day! TM is famous for holding seats back and releasing them at odd times. I've bought excellent seats to performances over the years by being patient and checking back. Well it's about time, please take a minute to write to your congressman!!! Well it's about time Congressman asks for investigation of Ticketmaster, TicketsNow over Springsteen By George Gombossy on February 3, 2009 2:44 PM | Permalink | Comments (0) PASCRELL SEEKS INVESTIGATION INTO TICKETMASTER BUSINESS PRACTICE WITH SUBSIDIARY, TICKETNOW Press release: WASHINGTON-- U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08) today requested that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division investigate Ticketmaster's relationship with its subsidiary company, TicketsNow, following the company's handling of ticket sales for the Bruce Springsteen tour that became available on Monday February 2. Dear Chairman Kovacic: I am writing today to direct your attention to a potential conflict of interest regarding Ticketmaster and its affiliate company, TicketsNow. This issue has been brought to my attention through constituent complaints and press reports regarding the online sale of Bruce Springsteen concerts tickets at the IZOD Center in New Jersey and other locations all across the country. As you know, Ticketmaster is a large ticket sales and distribution company that often serves as a venue's sole ticketing agent. A large percentage of their sales are made online through Ticketmaster.com. In a recent effort expand its business Ticketmaster acquired TicketsNow, a website which specializes in the secondary, resale market for tickets. When tickets for Bruce Springsteen's new tour went on sale exclusively through Ticketmaster at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, scores of fans in New Jersey were met with technical difficulty on Ticketmaster.com that impaired them from making a purchase. Thousands of others who were fortunate enough to get beyond the technical problems were informed that the shows were sold out. Conspicuously placed on the same screen that informed fans of ticket unavailability was an alternative purchasing option from TicketsNow.com. It offered the same tickets at a value marked up hundreds of dollars beyond their original face value. I am troubled by how quickly tickets priced exponentially higher became available on the secondary market to thousands of rejected fans, many who also endured unfortunate technical problems on Ticketmaster.com. I am concerned that the business affiliation between Ticketmaster and TicketsNow may represent a conflict of interest that is detrimental to the average fan. There is a significant potential for abuse when one company is able to monopolize the primary market for a product and also directly manipulate, and profit from, the secondary market. Additionally, the speed with which tickets were made available on Ticketmaster's official resale affiliate site raises questions about whether TicketsNow brokers were given preferential treatment instead of competing on a level playing field with average consumers to purchase the tickets. With so many families struggling in this economy, I am outraged by how expensive tickets to ball games, concerts and other shows have become. I understand the economic principles that have driven up the cost of entertainment, but will not tolerate unjust business practices that put regular Americans at a disadvantage. I respectfully request that your office investigate the relationship between Ticketmaster and TicketsNow to ensure that the procedure for purchasing tickets remains fair to the average consumer. If you require any additional information or have any questions, please contact Arthur Mandel on my staff at (202) 225-5751. I look forward to the favor of your reply. Sincerely, Bill Pascrell, Jr. Member of Congress

Hey there, I bought a few too many dead tickets, and now I can't afford to go to Bonnaroo. Due to this, I have tickets each following shows up for sale/trade: Worcester 4/18 - 1 Hartford 4/26 - 2 I will gladly trade both sets of tickets for a weekend pass with camping (non-RV) to Bonnaroo. If cash is offered, I will accept no more than what I paid for the tickets. They're pricey enough as it is. All the tickets are floor seats. For more information, feel free to mail me on this site, or at me email address: redial2 [at] gmail [dot] com Thanks a ton. Also, I will be attending whichever shows I can't offload tickets for, as well as the 4/19 show in Worcester. If you're interested in carpooling, shoot me a message. -Coffee

Hi!We bought tickets (general admission) to the Shoreline show on May 10th, but after seeing today that they will be playing the gorge in washington, we would much prefer to go there since we wouldn't have to fly. If you would like these tickets for the same price I got them for ($79? i think. I cant remember right now, but we can figure it out later). Please e-mail me! I would be happy to send them to you.
