- In 1969, the Grateful Dead played Piedmont Park with the Allman Brothers in Atlanta, Ga. This was a free afternoon concert.
- In 1978, the Grateful Dead played Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO.
- In 1981, the Grateful Dead played the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO.
- In 1984, the Grateful dead played Alpine Valley Music Theater in E. Troy, WI.
- In 1986, the Grateful Dead played RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.
- In 1987, the Grateful Dead played the Civic Center in Roanoke, VA. 'In The Dark' was released on this date.
- In 1989, the Grateful Dead played JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, PA. This is the last JFK show. About the only things still going on at JFK Stadium were Army-Navy games and Grateful Dead concerts. The building was almost condemned before the show, but the City let the Dead play one more. Then they had their way and tore this whole building down.

- In 1995, the Grateful Dead played the Riverport Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, MO. The Summer of Death tour wasn't over yet. Several people were injured the night before at a campground. A thunderstorm sent everyone scurrying for cover. Too many people crowded onto an elevated deck and it collapsed.

- In 1995, the Grateful Dead played the Riverport Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, MO. Final Eyes of the World, I think. Those in the lot were handed flyers from the band concerning their behavior at Deer Creek.
This was a great place to experience the dead. I caught five shows there; 77, 81, 82, 83, 85.
I loved the outdoor shows, no echo. I could almost picture the notes skipping off over the hills, running free.
I'm sure they are still out there; frollicking in the morning dew.

What a pity!!! I was 14 at my first show (7-18-72) and remember that summer with fondest memories...
Locations
I believe Dead was saying goodbye. Remarked so that night...unbroken chain (only 2nd time or something, I've read)...He's Gone, This could be the Last Time ad incredible Stella Blue in an otherwise almost soul-less 2nd set. Glad I caught I Pittsburgh show thta sumer...would hate for this one to be my final memory.
Played great songs but really without any fire for the most part.
