Still the best show I have on tape and maybe the only show I ever attended that sounded as good at home as it did at the show. Song selection, the band's energy and most importantly their accuracy were excellent (as were most of the '77 shows, I'll admit). Oh and the fact that puts it over the top - (besides me being there), was that bone chilling ending to "Uncle John's Band" (which I've never heard them do, before or since).
The Dude Abides!
Someone somewhere is sitting on great copies or masters of these shows and they seem to remain mysteriously uncirculated.
Here are the setlists.

8-27-72 would be one of my fondest wish and then it would be nice to have
after that, it would have to be a '77 show - 4/23/77 or 5/3/77
Release the best shows from places that tended to bring out a little more from the band, like Cal Expo, Red Rocks, Alpine Meadows, Merriwether Post, Berkeley Community Theater, Autzen Stadium, the Greek, and no doubt others. And unusual shows, like Melk Weg.
Also, go through the Rex Foundation benefits and put out the best of those (and give the profits to the foundation).

A box set or two or three or ? containing every Dark Star ever recorded in chronological order.
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

11/11/1973. This is an incredible show through and through. The Dark Star is a good candidate for scholarly research. So many themes. Winterland 73' box set indeed. I would buy anything from this period.
