So what I saw once upon a time was true, (that metaphor could hold for so many things) and the new gathering place is here. My old brain will struggle to learn new habits but I see some old friends are here (and some new ones as well). Time to continue with the tale. Thank you much for this new trail in the adventure.

well, there were numerous discussions in progress, (too numerous to mention) which would be nice to see back online...
if you or someone else could wade through some of the old data, and start threads along the same lines, that would be cool. otherwise, I guess we have to start all over from 'scratch' and repeat ourselves and tell the same stories again?? it is kind of a bummer to see all of that stuff go to waste.

This is being discussed in Admin Questions, too. Topic starting is being limited/moderated for the time being for house-keeping reasons. Let's get the kinks out of the system before folks go wild with starting new topics.
As noted elsewhere, topic starting is turned off for now because as you may have noticed the chaos is a bit unmanageable right now what with hundreds of new folks and a few software issues to deal with. For the time being, if there's a topic you want started, send a message to izzie or me and we'll get on it.
As for the old forums, I'm not sure of their ultimate status; I do know that for the moment they are indeed gone, and I'm sorry. I've put in a request to see if they can be archived somewhere.
The sight layout looks great. I agree with CC Joe.

We just got here ourselves, and I'm not sure what's possible and what isn't. But we're aware of the issue and trying to resolve it. We'll keep you posted on any developments.
