AWESOME new concept - wish they had this when the Dead were arou

Hey guys! I just heard about a really cool concept you should all look into. It’s called NoiseShare (www.noiseshare.com) and it seems like a great idea. They work with venues to record and archive concerts. Imagine having a catalogue of all the shows you’ve ever been to! Then they have this community which is kind of like MySpace, but with more of a focus on music, bands, and live events. Check it out and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Leave them a comment if you think it’s a good idea…I did. Anyways, I’ll end my babble-rant now….www.noiseshare.com

Thanks for the awesome site!

Looks good. I see some bugs to work out, and good luck with that. A really nice place to come to and relax. Mykal The Tie Dyer-r-r-r-r-r-r-r

I got that message

Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page.

the way it happened, I had 2 pages open at the same time. two different threads on two different pages in my browser. then I logged off of the site on one page, as soon as I tried to read something on the other page-- it rejected me and gave me the access denied message.

anways, easy solution, stay logged on until you are done reading everything.

Paisly, I think your log in gets timed out, then when you click on your favorite, the computer can't tell you still want to be logged in. maybe it is better to try to log out, and then go to the trouble of logging in each time? I don't know, I'm a computer dummy, but it might keep you from getting the harsh message.

so, yeah, I do aggree that the language for Access denied etc. and the you can't post new topics could be softened up a bit like Paisly suggested before.

so, instead of access denied, it could read,

"dude, could you please log in? pretty please with sugar on top? log in, please."

peace.

...shall we go, you and I while we can...
This site is listed as a "favorite" on my comcast home page, so I stay logged in and simply click on the site name, so maybe that's the problem, I'll check.

Access Denied?

From your broswer? I don't get it... no one has said anything about that before. Is this a common thing, folks? Paisley, I don't mean to be stupid, but how do you log in?

Each time I click on the site from my browser, Access Denied, You Do Not Have Permission To Access This Page, appears. I was just suggesting you might soften the language. Same with the threads in the forums, make it a little lighter, that's all. I know you've got bigger things to think about, 'cause it seems like you got thrown in the deep end of the pool here! Take care!

Welcome, Indeed!!

You're right, paisley, and we've given it alot of thought. Perhaps something right off that states that this is a moderated site, and therefore not a site with user-created topic areas, just like DeadNetCentral, and unlike Ratdog.

I'd think by now though, with the site being several weeks old, an astute new user would pick up right away that there are not 50+ daily, randomly created and non-integrated topics...

I'm not sure, though, where a first-time user would come across Access Denied, except maybe the fan photos, which while a sore spot, is being worked on and is in the Read First FAQ Section. Is there a better way, I wonder, to draw the new user's attention, than to post in areas called Read First, Before You Get Started, and FAQ?

Maybe it's a bit picky, but am I the only one who thinks its a little off-putting to have the first thing I see on the site state in bold letters "Access Denied", How 'bout "You can't see this yet" or "We know it's blank,Okay?" something a bit more friendly?

Same with "You cannot post a forum on this page" , maybe something like" You can't open a thread, but you can write all you want to" or "We're open to suggestions for new threads because you can't start 'em yourself". I know you all must be very busy...just give it a thought.
