The taper's section.

Brokedown Palace.

Words by Robert Hunter; music by Jerry Garcia
.(1).
Fare you well my honey
Fare you well my only true one

All the birds that were singing
Have flown except you alone
~~~~~~~~
Goin to leave this Broke-down Palace
On my hands and my knees I will roll roll roll
Make myself a bed by the waterside
In my time - in my time - I will roll roll roll
In a bed, in a bed
by the waterside I will lay my head
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul
River gonna take me
Sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy
all the way back back home
(ahhhhhhhh...)
It's a far gone lullaby
sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come
since I first left home
Goin home, goin home
by the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul
(can't get much more beautiful than this!)
Goin to plant a weeping willow
By the banks green edge it will grow grow grow
Sing a lullaby beside the water
Lovers come and go - the river roll roll roll
Fare you well, fare you well
Just wanted to check in
I've kind of disappeared off this site. I've been using it as my workplace online water cooler for several years, but I got an early Christmas present at work -- the site has been blocked. Since I avoid sitting at a computer at home (8-10 hr a day at work is quite enough, thank-you), I've only peeked in now and then. For some reason, the filter just let me through -- I keep banging at the door every day -- so I thought I wouldn't let the opportunity pass to post in the thread that I seemed to hang out the most.
We've lost Lamagonzo in the meantime?
Anyway, maybe I've knocked the walls down for good, or maybe I just snuck through this afternoon without the ticket guy bothering to see if I actually had one to THIS show.
Keep on listening, folks!
I'm one of those who think they kept getting better up to the end..
Phil is doing some wild stuff ..
and there's great crowd.. something about the crowd cheering in the late shows..
I saw the first performance of this song in '88 at alpine..
