Bad Brains - CBGB, 1982.
This might be the last show where Jer had the energy to go the distance. They always tried a little harder for the die-hards in the pouring rain -- 4 rain songs to start the 2nd set! (The downpour was legendary). Take Me To The River was showing promise, it might have really morphed into something had they had the time. This has my vote for the very best of 95.
Charlotte Coliseum: Unbroken Chain...Corrina>Matilda
I wanted to hear what in some people's opinion was the best of the ten versions of Unbroken Chain played that year. I never venture into 95, I feel like it's some forgotten place. If that was the best 'Chain' then I know why this this is No Man's Land.
However, the Corrina>Matilda is quite excellent. I guess you have to pick your places.

happy friday too, everyone.
Grateful Dead - Capitol Theater, Passaic, NJ, 11/24/1978.
Still shuffling along, pondering the true meaning of "random play" as defined by this little device...
Jay Bennett, Jeff Tweedy, and Roger McGuinn -- Sugar Baby
Allman Brothers Band -- One Way Out
Marshall Tucker Band -- Take the Highway
Elton John -- Honky Cat
Warren Zevon -- Excitable Boy
Bruce Springsteen & E Street featuring, yes, Roger McGuinn -- Turn! Turn! Turn!
Thom Yorke -- After the Goldrush
T. Rex -- Get It On
Mott the Hoople -- All the Young Dudes
Beatles -- Hey Bulldog
Mamas and the Papas -- California Dreaming
Bob Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Revue -- It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry
Stevie Wonder -- Uptight (Everything's Alright)
Maybe I'm seeing patterns where there are none, but two concecutive "southern rock" songs, two consecutive "piano-man" songs, two consecutive live covers, two consecutive "glam" songs, two non-consecutive Roger McGuinn appearances. Random my ass!
Happy Friday! It is Friday, isn't it?
