Later on, thanks to great advice from birdleson - a little Doors. Good call brother, good call!
MORRISON HOTEL. Remixed. Just got it off of itunes. It is insane. These guys were a hell of a band.
PLANES
Various - Mercury Records, The New Orleans Sessions 1950 & 1953
(The First Ever Professor Longhair and more. Rumbunctious and righteous.)
The York Brothers - Long Time Gone
Jimmy Swan - Honky Tonkin' In Mississippi
(Coz modern country not only sounds like '70s rock with hats, but sux big time, too.)
On my local community supported radio station KYRS on the Vinyl Hour show. I requested it for Jerry and the DJ (Ned) dedicated it at my request to the "current administration”. ;-)
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)
Walt Whitman-Song of Myself
Jerry live at the warfield "How Sweet It Is" I always listen to that cd on this day.
hey, deadlynyc- i haven't heard anything on the radio all day either! how sad.. i even called my favorite station, but no answer... boohoo...
so, since i didn't spend all day in the car, i spent all afternoon at home grooving to all the taper's section discs i have made, all the dp's from my vault, and all other sources i could dig up. a little dancing on the patio with a glass of wine mingling with the universe helps my sanity!
i miss jerry and at the very moment i am listening to 'how sweet it is to be loved by you' from the jgb kean college 2-28-80 and i plan on a bit of 'cold rain and snow' before lights out...
sweet dreams tonight and a great day tomorrow--

You get so far away from how it feels inside,
You can't let go, 'cause you're afraid to fall,
But the day may come when you can't feel at all."
