listening to sirius channel 17,dead channel playing 6/19/1980 Alaska!!!
its crazy, i hadnt listening to the dead much the last 10 years, and ive know been drawn back thanks to this channel! if you arent sold on sirius, im a fellow "recommender".
...anyone else hearing this Alaska show?
He just mentioned the 10/31/91 show in Oakland where Ken Kesey came out and gave a ulogy for Bill Graham in the middle of Dark Star...I was at that show, and remember how powerful that moment was. I found a copy online a few years back and burned to CD, but alas, that set of discs disappeared in one move or another...ftp @ gdlive.com doesn't seem to work anymore, and I'd love to find that show again...if anyone knows where I can download a copy, or if someone has a copy and wouldn't mind burning one for me, I'd be most grateful.
Looking forward to the all-Dead channel on Sirius...I hope they keep it rolling forever, as it makes long drives in the car (and long days at the office) so much easier.
ahh...interview ended...it's deep elem blues time...

I was in one of front rows and center for that Iowa City show (8/10/82). Closest I got to Jerry for the longest time. I'm getting a positive energy buzz remembering it right now. Thanks.
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,

The shows, interviews and rare tracks they are playing... it is just awesome!
Stop a stranger and shake their hand!

... Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby together? They just put out a disc that has a unique take on Jack-a-Roe, Hornsby's Mandolin Rain, and ... Rick James' Super Freak!
Had the opportunity to see Tony Rice perform a couple years back at Live Oak, Florida. What a great picker, and he looked very dapper onstage as well.
