Keep those reports coming!
Keep those reports coming!
Bill Graham getting it started over at the Cow Palace for the '76 NYE show
then heading right over to the Promised Land.
Happy New Year!
"Where does the time go?"
I like that album Bob. Makes me think of Mountain a bit differently though after reading the sleevenotes.
Charlie Parker "Royal Roost" 1/01/49 (Symphony Sid is insufferable but it doesn't seem to bother Bird).
Ellington '55 1/01/54 (the '55 session's in May)
Bud Powell "The Scene Changes" 12/28/58 Great late Powell on BN!
Bill Evans "Portrait in Jazz" 12/28/59 (needs a little more sonic detailing but, of course, the music is magnificient!)
Julie London "Julie Is Her Name/Julie Is Her Name, Vol.2" Look out!!!
"From day to day, just lettin' it ride,
You get so far away from how it feels inside,
You can't let go, 'cause you're afraid to fall,
But the day may come when you can't feel at all."
i will give that a go also
Bob

I slipped disc 2 of the GD Movie in and selected Scarlet Begonias: just a touch of the blues. Oh the way Donna sways and adds highs to the vocals !!! 6 in Kansas this morning. Oh to be along the Mediterranean or someplace nice and warm. China Cat's next...
Stanley Turrentine "That's Where It's At" 1/02/62
Winterland 1/02/72 (Courtesy the D00Dah man I now have the missing piece to a National Treasure - Set 2, 1/02/72. In a vine comprised of Winterland '72 & '73 shows there it was all by its lonesome - one disc - the one I had been needing for four years. The vine had been started by Richard but when it came to D00Dah, well, he knew just what to do - add one disc to the 19. I was able to trace it to him because in the other vine I had - NYE '71/'81 - I had noted the handwriting on the discs and the brand of discs. It is not a widely known show but it has a Good Lovin'>China Cat>Good Lovin' that's subtly seamless and a NFA>GDTRFB>NFA that goes into that wonderful dream-state they were able to channel on command with the addition of Keith - O.K., Erik Satie time! Check this vine, it has 19 other discs that are sure to produce similar wonders.)
