Just picked this up off a torrent site. Great stereo soundboard of a riotous and joyful show. What a band, what a sound! I'm flying round the house here!
A Love Supreme
Always one of my favorites. For some reason it makes my three year old put a plastic bucket on his head and run in circles. It must be a phase.
Red Garland "A Garland of Red" 8/17/56
Teddy Edwards "Teddy's Ready" 8/17/60
"Where does the time go?"
The Most Perfect 1st set of all...... Sugaree a go go
I have been listening to this almost every other day for over a week. Both the early and late shows. For me this night just shows how many different styles the band was playing and exploring. It seems like I am going into a museum of sound and entering different rooms, the blues room, the jam room, the psychedelic room, the country room, the folk room, the rock and roll room. This and 2/14 and 2/11 should be in every heads collection. But many if not most of you know that. And the other bands on the bill that night and the next were Love and the Allman Brothers. A truly historic run. .
If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.

He's Gone.....
Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track
He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone.
Missing him everyday
