A Song For You

Leon Russell is in a class by himself...just an amazing human artist that had a huge effect on my life's appreciation. Thanks for refreshing my dusty mind grdead73. Such a great musician to re explore...

Had tickets to see him once and he didn't make it due to exhaustion and as disappointed as I was, I understood...and perhaps I will have another chance...but I am going back to Carney and I'll hear The Hummingbird.

That was my political awakening as well

watching what was happening in Chicago and shaking my head in disbelief. There were 2 times to that point that I recall the TV being 'on' past 1 am the landing on the moon and the Chicago Convention and reaction (all the networks used to just 'sign off and the TV would come back on around 6, TV history lession) . A significant political marker for many.

The Whole World is Watching -40 years ago

Hearing that inside my head after reading your post grdead73 and that war was a big part of my voice of change too. Saw some footage last night and before it was even announced what it was I said aloud "Chicago 68". Remember when they gave the Picasso sulpture tears because of the war. Peace brother.

Gentlemen, get the thing straight, once and for all: the policeman isn't there to 'create' disorder; the policeman is there to 'preserve' disorder.

i heard the voice in 68 as i watched in horror at the convention and respect for order givers vanished as i listened to my father tell how he and my uncle help the cops kick dirty hippie asses down the street... hows that for a memory! change my life for good, peace2U
