Grateful Dead
Crystal Lake - my grandparents lived in Woodstock. I lived in Cary in part of 74 and I seem to remember a good fm station out of Crystal Lake then. Also listened to TRIAD and to
others, at the time, the radio was always so good that I didn't even need a tape deck (didn't want an 8 track anyway - fm sounded much better).
Listening to GOGD Winterland, Nov. 11 1973
"Dancing on a sea of sound" - Captain Beyond
If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.

dancing madly backward... now there a blast from the past, hal! i 1st heard them on an am radio station out of crystal lake, ill. that played "underground" music for a of couple hours on sunday afternoons about 72-73 i went and bought that album but never got into it, traded it for workingmans dead, i think i got a better deal : )
"Going up Cripple Creek, going on a run. Going up Cripple Creek, have a little fun."
From the album Bring 'em in. Which is a great album. Hal you're post reminded me, so thank you. I am going to see him in Victoria BC on Monday night. Im excited he is playing in an old theatre downtown with excelent sound. Should be a great show, man he can play.
An absolute master craftsman. So glad you could se him Hal, what a treasure.
Skin Deep - his release of this year.
Seeing him once again on Wednesday night reminded me of how incredible this man is and how to me he at present is the foremost embodiement of the blues.
Guests on this one include Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Eric Clapton and Robert Randolph. Hey and there is Reese Wymans on keyboards who played with two of my other favorites - Captain Beyond (anybody else get off on them?) and SRV and Double Trouble.
This one shows how it is done.
If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.

Beer Barrel Polka
There's a garden, what a garden
Only happy faces bloom there
And there's never any room there
For a worry or a gloom there.
Oh there's music, and there's dancing,
And a lot of sweet romancing,
When they play the polka
They all get in the swing.
Every time they hear that oompahpah
Everybody feels so tralala
They want to throw their cares away
They all go lah-de-ah-de-ay.
Then they hear a rumble on the floor
It's the big surprise they're waiting for
And all the couples form a ring
For miles around you hear them sing:
Chorus:
Roll out the barrel, we'll have a barrel of fun
Roll out the barrel, we've got the blues on the run
Zing, boom, tararrel, sing out a song of good cheer
Now's the time to roll the barrel, for the gang's all here!
