From Passaic 77 - something always magic about that theater
wow. No one seems to have posted for nearly 6 hours!
I am listening to 'Reflections' by Jerry Garcia.
JGB 2/28/80 "After Midnight" is playin on the After Midnight release. I needed to hear some Jerry after listening to all these current Dead shows. I just love the "How Sweet It Is" on this one.
listenin' to Wharf Rat and of course the prettiest guitar I ever heard.
Worcester Centrum (DCU) - 04/19/2009 - Only show I was able to catch this time around, good show IHMO....very tight, good jam sessions, some 60's songs and sound....and....Bill & Mickey were >tight<....good Rhythm Devils.
Before that I was listening to Dick's Picks, Vol. 8: Harpur College, Binghamton, NY, 5/2/70
Amazingly enough, I'm listening to the show I just attended last night. What a long way we've come from writing countless letters, collecting max points, sucking up to tape-traders, waiting months(or even years) just to get a high-gen cassette of somebody yelling "J E R R Y!" over a hissy version of your favorite show!
B.Shank & B.Perkins 5/02/55
Gil Evans "Complete Pacific Jazz Sessions" 5/02/58
Jackie McLean "New Soil" 5/02/59 (Jackie & Billy Higgins signed the liner notes for me)
Donald Byrd "The Cat Walk" 5/02/61
GOGD Harpur College 5/02/70 w/ NRPS One of my favorite moments in the Dead I've heard is when Jerry and Bobby decide to play Dire Wolf and then the audience begins to get off en masse during the ensuing Dead Air. The rush is palpable - love it every time!!!
Encore: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss 5/02/08 (courtesy amigo Neil)
