Last morning commute of the year

Two whole weeks without a drive to work -- that's getting close to heaven for me.

IPod shuffle mode again:

Isolation -- John Lennon
A Well Respected Man -- Kinks
Out of Time -- Stones
US Blues -- Dead...Mansfield MA 6/30/04 ...Bobby sounding very good on vox, Warren sounding very ABB on lead
White Christmas -- Bing Crosby
Varity -- Lucinda Williams
Losing You -- Marshall Tucker
Only a Northern Song -- Beatles
Everybody Knows this is Nowhere -- Neil and Crazy Horse at the Fillmore

Happy holidays!

Without A Net

I was excited when this came out, more live Dead on CD and current live at that. Enjoying it again today. Up to that time there had been nothing official live since Dead Set and Reckoning and before that what? Europe 72, Bear's Choice, Skull and Roses, Live Dead and Anthem bits.

Complete live shows were all on tape, no Dick's Picks..

If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.

Last three songs from the morning commute

Courtesy of the IPod shuffle mode:

Estimated (I think from the So Many Roads Box)

Outfit -- Drive-By Truckers (Austin City Limits Festival)

Can't Find My Way Home -- Blind Faith

I heard Winwood play "Can't" this summer opening for Tom Petty. It was, overall, an inspired set, especially under the opening-act-people-slowly-filing-in circumstances.
