The Night in Northern New York
- ---- ---. ---. --
of WBGO fm since I've been spending a LOT of time in cars lately and they broadcast in my local market, as well as online at www.wbgo.org. If you fancy a jazz fix and can pry yourselves away from the Dead channel on SiriusXM or gdradio.com they are a reliable fix. Even heard them track a selection from the recent David Bromberg/Levon Helm collaboration during the Blues hour (3-4pm ET) as a nod to Levon.
Just making a suggestion. If your mother doesn't like it tell her to write her Congressman...
Badger, I hadn't heard of them either, saw them opening for Drive-By Truckers last fall. They came out playing "Hold On" ... I was dancing almost immediately and did not stop until they left the stage, which is saying something for these old bones. And I walked away with a memento: something frisbee'd from the stage to the crowd at the end of the show -- a setlist written on a paper plate, ended up in my hands.
The Cellar Door Sessions 1970
I just got this and it is really blowing me away. 6 sets from the shows that produced Live-Evil. Wow!
that's a coincidence Gratefaldean..I had never heard of them, but saw them live on TV last night.. and I thought they were fantastic. Here is the performance
Boys and Girls
I'm not saying that you should run out and buy this album today, boys and girls. You should, however, catch this band live at your earliest opportunity. Brittany Howard certainly has the pipes (and that "Brittany" first name) to be a pop diva, but she most definitely had not crossed over to the Dark Side. Check out this band!
Good luck Parkas4Kids. Every time I try to do the same with the measly 700 songs on my Nano, playing on "shuffle" mode, something screws up and I never...quite...make it. Last time, at song 680, the thing locked up on me and I needed to reboot. Only 20 songs to go!
"Walking with Strangers"
Yep, still going through the iPod catalog from A to 123. 6,852 songs down out of 7,459. Can he do it?
Yes. He. Can!
