I've been listing to some great live dead. I love Dead Set and and Live at the Cow Palace 1976, and the amazing weekly Dead Podcast hosted by John Henrikson.

Very well then I contradict myself,

"From day to day, just lettin' it ride,
You get so far away from how it feels inside,
You can't let go, 'cause you're afraid to fall,
But the day may come when you can't feel at all."
Summer tour 1988 - remember it like it was yesterday. Didn't go to this one, but I like what I hear so far. A very energetic Half Step opener - Jerry really belting out the vocal. Then Rooster and West LA with David Hidalgo from Los Lobos firing off some stinging leads. If you've never seen Los Lobos in concert, well ... you must.
Someone earlier mentioned one of my favorite Hornsby songs, "Across the River." He did it a few times with Other Ones in 1998 - great song. Hornsby is someone else well worth seeing in concert. Matter of fact, first time I saw Hornsby was opening for Grateful Dead in summer of 1988.
