Welcome to the latest evolution of Dead.Net. Before you start clicking around we just wanted to give you three... no, four, informational gems.
1. We want you to know that this site is going to be ever-improving, ever-evolving and never sitting still. Post your ideas, your wish lists, your hopes for what you wish this site could be. We have a million ideas of our own, and we want to build this 'thing' into the best 'thing' it can be.
2. At the moment, we have not fully merged the community/archives with the store. That means that you are going to have to create a whole 'nother account when you want to go to the store and buy stuff. We are working really hard to make it so that you only need one account. In the meantime, when you do create your User accounts, please use the same email address for both so that we can unite them when the time comes.
3. The store. Yes, the shelves are a little empty right now. We are moving truckloads of merch to a shiny new warehouse, and so it's not all in yet. We will be adding tons of new stuff really soon!
4. That's it! Wander around and check it all out. We hope you're happy with what we're building here, since really, it's all for you.
I'm Rob I love to list to the Dead and lots of other kinds of music. I haven't fully mastered navigating this page , so forgive me if I post things in the wrong place.
I also like to build instruments.
My last build was a tenor ukulele version of Jerry's Tiger guitar.
You can see it on my Facebook.
Send Dr. Rhino an email (drrhino at rhino dot com) and he'll get in touch with the licensing folks. Thanks much!
My daughter encountered a similar situation when she adapted a skull/roses image with the name "Grateful Dead" for a custom boat flag that she designed a few years ago. When she submitted the artwork for fabrication, she was told to provide authorization. She ultimately got connected to someone in a legal position with the Dead org and after assuring the lawyer that it was a one-only item for personal, non-commercial use, she received approval quickly and graciously. I asked her if she could track down the correspondence, but it's been a bit too long. Good luck...
I'll let you know what I find out.
Yes, it's non-commercial use; to be mounted on the side of our barn. No night club, not selling the barn quilt as merchandise or intending to use it to market anything. Strictly for our edification.
This is noncommercial use, right? You're not selling the quilt or running a nightclub in your barn, etc.?
Not sure where to post this....
To anyone who may have an answer...
I'm having my barn painted this year and would like to have a local artist make a barn quilt with dancing bears on it (to hang on the side of the barn). Are there any licensing or other issues that need to be addressed beforehand? Please PM me with answer when convenient.
I read it a few times she is a very spiritual lady for sure. Yet some of her recollections of the days around Otis passing away are a bit off . Yes bobby was upset am sure we all would be. Yet when she says he did not sing a song that is not a real fact. He did sing during the San fran civic shows in January of 87 maybe not comfortably but he sang. The shows are on the archives and was at them also. The get back show. Shakedown Get Back.
Please do not take it as am dissing her am only stating what's known. The book is a very good read.
this should be released soon. really hoping for Eugene 1/22/78
Hubba hubba gettin my first post on.
