Welcome to the latest evolution of Dead.Net. Before you start clicking around we just wanted to give you three... no, four, informational gems.
1. We want you to know that this site is going to be ever-improving, ever-evolving and never sitting still. Post your ideas, your wish lists, your hopes for what you wish this site could be. We have a million ideas of our own, and we want to build this 'thing' into the best 'thing' it can be.
2. At the moment, we have not fully merged the community/archives with the store. That means that you are going to have to create a whole 'nother account when you want to go to the store and buy stuff. We are working really hard to make it so that you only need one account. In the meantime, when you do create your User accounts, please use the same email address for both so that we can unite them when the time comes.
3. The store. Yes, the shelves are a little empty right now. We are moving truckloads of merch to a shiny new warehouse, and so it's not all in yet. We will be adding tons of new stuff really soon!
4. That's it! Wander around and check it all out. We hope you're happy with what we're building here, since really, it's all for you.
this is a known problem dating from some time ago and the tech folks work on it as they are able.
Hey all, was looking to listen to some music from the tapers section from 2008, and it seems that a huge chunk of the section has been removed or lost. The TS jumps from December 2007 all the way to 2011. I cant seem to find any hint of all that missing music anywhere on the site, or the rest of the net for that matter. Has anyone else experienced this? Any info on whats going on? Appreciated and much love to you all.
Glad you've arrived in the neighborhood; make yourself at home!
After listening to the Dead for 50 years, I finally took the plunge and have joined the community and I am so glad to be here.
I recently listened to nothing other than the 25 sets of Dick's Picks that I have from start to finish and was both blown away and mellowed out at the same time.
It brought back a lot of memories and created some new ones.
Rather than bore you, I just wanted to say again, that I am thrilled to be here and have to start saving money for the RFK release.
This is awesome.
I just got out of The Marines and my Bro pulls up to my parents house and says "Get in, let's go to a show." I say " Sure, let me tell the folks and we're off!" I go inside and tell my parents that we're going to a movie and will be back in a few hours...go outside...get in the truck and my Bro says..." I didn't say we were going to a movie...I said we're going to a show!"...I say "What kind of show are we going to?"..." A Dead show!" he says..."Well alrighty!" and down to Eugene Oregon's Hult Center we went...and it was AWESOME! I got so many grate songs my first run...and I got this killer long sleeve white t shirt with the skull and roses skeleton couple dancing through a field of roses...it was a tour shirt not a lot shirt and my first! I was stoked, but later learned there were far better finds in the lot! I wore the sleeves off of it first...and now it's see through, but I still have my tank top of a shirt tucked away in a box with the other gems I collected on my 136 show 12 year run with the boys!
Gotta LOVE The Good 'Ol Grateful Dead!
Send Dr. Rhino an email (drrhino at rhino dot com) and he'll get in touch with the licensing folks. Thanks much!
My daughter encountered a similar situation when she adapted a skull/roses image with the name "Grateful Dead" for a custom boat flag that she designed a few years ago. When she submitted the artwork for fabrication, she was told to provide authorization. She ultimately got connected to someone in a legal position with the Dead org and after assuring the lawyer that it was a one-only item for personal, non-commercial use, she received approval quickly and graciously. I asked her if she could track down the correspondence, but it's been a bit too long. Good luck...
I'll let you know what I find out.
Yes, it's non-commercial use; to be mounted on the side of our barn. No night club, not selling the barn quilt as merchandise or intending to use it to market anything. Strictly for our edification.
