Jeremy, I think it's pretty safe to say that lots of folks share your concern and are working on it, and we're really sorry about all the misadventure.
We're working on setting up a process where we've got someone working directly with the Store folks to get this resolved. Meanwhile, if something's not going right for you on the Store side, you've emailed firstname.lastname@example.org to no avail, and you'd like to get this resolved, send the particulars to izzie or me; we'll pass it along and stay on the case.

Yep. Customer Service at the Store level is flakey. MaryE and I are working closely with the admin staff, who share all of our frustations with the ramp-up for the Store. I have every confidence that it's going to get better in the very near future. Please, bear with those cats over there just a little bit longer - it seems they weren't quite ready for the huge response they received with the new release!
and to our European friends - technical staff is on board to help speed things for you folks. If you have specific instances of loading-freakiness, please let us know.

Pretty sure we've got quite a busload of old-school tourheads in these forums already. Equally sure that your two mods are quite on board with treating everyone fairly and respectfully, and doin' it in style. (We're Heads too, you know!) Feel free to call us on it if you find otherwise.

Sounds very good! I especially like that it's mentioned that folks ought to be respectful of one another. If this place is going to attract the right kind of people then that is extremely important. I hope the mods are on the ball with that one. Also, I hope to see everyone treating each others fairly. Responding when people take the time to write something. Not forming cliques based on how many trades they have made or whatever...! Being open to everyone as everyone has something to offer if u take the time to check it out. Let's try to be open minded and us our heads when we speak. Understood it's not your responsibility. But please let them know that it is dodgy to have a system that takes peoples' cash (or does it?) and then sends no confirmation. As noted, I have no idea whether my order was accpeted or processed - that is a NONO for online purchases. Even the Dead have to play the game on this one ya know - and did so on the two previous store incarnations. This one has clearly not been tested properly befoire going live.
On the other side - you mods are doing a great job. Love ya to bits!

Thanks to all who worked on the new site! Given the creativity and inspiration of all who were and still are touched by the music, I expect we'll see it evolve as it goes.
To the folks who are already complaining, give these folks a break; this is great work for a beta release. This coming from someone not so much concerned with forum features, as there are many other ways a site can offer a unique and interactive experience.
Questions for the design/dev team: will there be an opportunity for users to volunteer support for user experience/bug reporting/etc for future alpha/beta releases of new features?
Initial suggestions for future features:
* Extend the concept of "Community" for members beyond the forums. For example, offer a way for users to create a network of their own friends within the online community, or a way for users to meet new folks in their physical location. Anything that goes beyond the general forums.
* Create a "looking for" feature that is not forum-based (searching through forums can be tedious). Technically speaking this would be easy to implement with any db/script resources actively being used. Examples would be downloads, tapes, memorabilia, stubs, people, etc.
* Polls - always fun. Both mod-created and user created. For example
"Where did you crash between shows?"
A) Holiday Inn B) van/bus/car C) Some stranger I hooked up with's pad D) Lockup E) Sleep?

What's going on. I place an order for lots of wonga, and it is as if it has disappeared into thin air.
Can anyone advise? Bad enough the new postal charges to the UK - they DOUBLED the cost of the 3 items I ordered, so I had the delivery changed to my brother in SF. Or did I? As no-one seems interested, and I have no evidence of the order even being placed, I am truth be known, fed up. I've spent hundreds of dollars on the dead's music over the years - looks like I'll be buying it elsewhere if this is what we have to wade thought for each new release. Can't even log into "my account", as my details seem to have disappeared.
