Rocking the Cradle: Egypt 1978
Running for a limited time; we proudly present seven tracks culled off Rocking The Cradle: Grateful Dead: Egypt 1978. It was 30 years ago this week when a lively assortment of the Grateful Dead's family, friends and fellow pranksters descended upon Egypt for 3 unforgettable shows at the foot of the Great Pyramid.
The shows were the culmination of a long and inspired journey which had drawn the band to this ancient setting. Nubian drummers and singers added unique flavor to the mix, and a full lunar eclipse heightened the magic.

Excellent!
After hearing for years about the downside of these shows, The work done on this recording is outstanding. Very earthy and organic. Each one of them is stretching out. It has a great feel to it. Very loose, like an old pair of lowa hiking boots, the savitas. Great shoes,Grate band.

Oh, hell yeah--that's a top-drawer Looks Like Rain. Beautifully played and sung. Crystal-clear sound; every instrument distinct. Nice.
Wait until you hear the "If
Wait until you hear the "If I Had The World to Give" on the bonus cd. It is a ballad where Jerry is at his best.
