Second Annual Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies

The Grateful Dead is back in select movie theaters nationwide for only one night on Thursday, April 19 at 7:00PM (local time) for the second annual Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies presented by Fathom. This year we've reached deep into the Grateful Dead vault to present the unreleased iconic concert captured at Alpine Valley Music Theatre on July 18, 1989 (the show directly following the band's famous Downhill From Here performance.) The event features the complete concert with two and a half hours of music!

Don’t miss your only opportunity to join friends and fans for the second annual Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies at 7:00PM (local time) in select theatres Thursday, April 19.

WHERE IS THE F is the official release of 7/18/89 Alpine Vall ?!

SO they are going to tease un with a ONE NIGHT ONLY showing of the 7/18/89 Alpine Valley unreleased show?!?! Probably the most requested multi-track show release requested from the pinnacle '88-'90 period!!

RELEASE A DVD/CD combo or BOXSET, C'MON!!!!! I HOPE THIS IS IN THE WORKS, and and the movie is just a prelude to this release...

Great show, but I'd rather see...

...Sunshine Daydream (8/27/72) or 4/17/72, a short videotape recording with 4/21/72 "Beat Club."
As for 1989, we already have Downhill From Here - the other segments of this run, Truckin' Up To Buffalo: 7/4/89, and Crimson, White & Indigo: 7/7/89. But nothing beats seeing the Dead on the big screen - larger than life. I thank the-powers-that-be for letting this GD show hit the big screen, and I will go see it. Just let me buy tickets for the Rave Cinemas in Center Valley, PA showing, very soon.

Here we go again.

Yep, good show. Just finished listening to the fine soundboard recording mastered by CM. Rhino has its marketing hooks out again, go to the movie, plop down $12.50 a head, buy crappy over priced movie junk food, watch a great concert, see some old friends, then 6 months down the road fork out $39.95 for a DVD/CD combo for a show that I just listned to. Seems to me that instead of putting out shows that a lot of people already have, or shows of a run that has been done with a bunch of shows already, the powers over at Rhino should find something no one has and no one has listened to for 30 or 40 years. A real, "Never been released", no bootlegs, no audience tapes, something really special. Yeah, I'll go to the movie, buy the DVD/CD when it comes out, but I've done this before. I want something different, something really special. You know....

... COSMIC!!!

DVD/CD

I hope all the good comments about a CD/DVD release of Alpine 7/18/89 are true. I cant imagine they would show this unreleased show in a one night movie with out a release afterwards.

PLUS they have got to know what a popular show this is?!?! Would be a big seller of a boxset or CD/DVD release I'm sure....heres hoping for a release

Suggestion

I, and most of us probably, have deadhead buddies in all time zones.
This should start at one time nationwide, so we can all experience this in "real time"
I text back & forth with a buddy during simulcasts on the Internet & I would like to do the same between songs here, but if it starts at 7pm locally, he will be an hour into the show when mine starts
Just a thought...
