Catch the first glimpse of the unreleased 7/18/89 Alpine Valley show with this beauty of a "New Minglewood Blues".
I think I might actually crawl out from under my rock and do this. Typically theater sound systems are 'boomy' so I'm sure those Phil bombs will be replicated quite nicely.
I also hope it is released as a cd/dvd set soon.
it's the only time I go there!
Just thought I would throw it out there, I know there is a large group of us from the Madison area that would love to not have to drive to Chicago. How about adding a show in Madison or Milwaukee?
I do remember the slip & slide.........
You guys should have a showing at the Regal in Poughkeepsie! I can't make it to any theater 1.5 hours away by 7 with my work schedule!
got tix? c-ya in Richmond, KY!
Many of us will be at Wanee to see Furthur and Mickey Hart Band. The festival is 19th-21st. Bad timing for a one night screening!
They finally did make it to Milwaukee for the show. Thanks to the Other Ones that pulled this together...
Peace,
Steve
Gonna have to miss this one, unfortunately. None of the theaters in Maryland are close enough to home to make it a feasible outing during the work week.
Anyone in the Modesto/Merced checking this out. Am totally going.

so i too was at the alpine 89 run. it was raining pretty good at this show, and i saw a friend of mine and scammed her into the pavilion so she could stay dry. (does anyone else remember the 'slip-sliding' sugaree? there was a river of water that was coming down to the left of the stage and folks were lining up to ride it down. it was hilarious!) we saw each other again at the jerry show at alpine that fall, then we pretty much lost contact with each other...for about 17 years! as fate would have it, we somehow reconnected, and wouldn't you know it, got married! but we still refer to this alpine show as our 'first date'!!! and as fate would have it, we can't go to the opening 4/19 because we will be traveling. but maybe they will encore it at a later date like they did the dead movie...!
3/24...darn it! the sugaree night is the next night. oh well. and after looking at the set lists, i remember liking the 1st night best from this run. my friend described the 2nd night to me just the other day as... "don't you remember, the middle night was the show with no flow..." um, my memory wan't that good back then, let alone now!!! but my heart always remembers the 3rd night's sugaree...!
