Catch the first glimpse of the unreleased 7/18/89 Alpine Valley show with this beauty of a "New Minglewood Blues".
I thought they were supposed to do a Daves picks slideshow and show some of the Dead covers project too, am I mistaken or was the Pittsburgh cinema excluded?
Being at this show @ Alpine was spectacular, and seeing it again up close & personal brought back wonderful memories. The movie last night gave me an appreciation, as good as it was at the time, of how well-played that whole show really was. Watching the Brent/Jerry interaction was fun; a really touching moment for me was seeing pictures of Brent's girls sitting on his keyboards. We had a small crowd of about 40 - 50 at a theatre in Milwaukkee, and everybody was hootin' & hollerin' when necessary, even had us up dancing. A great night; thanks again, and see you next year.
And to Levon, thank you for all you gave. Enjoy your well - deserved rest.
Peace,
Steve
Wonderful time in Wilmington DE, right up till the cable provider cut out in the middle Dear Mr. Fantasy. Theater was about 1/3 full :( but in the ensuing silence we met up with folks we hadn't seen in *years* (and a few we hadn't seen yet) :) The theater was really nice about the technical glitch, they refunded our tickets (hope it is DISH network that foots that bill, not the organizers). STILL, I *really* wanted to see how many more notches the band was going to take Dear Mr Fantasy up ... Brent was ON FIRE.
