NOW PLAYING: Bob And Mickey's Performance And Interview From The Sundance Premiere Of The Music Never Stopped
Check our exclusive reel of Bob and Mickey's acoustic performance and interview from the Sundance premiere party for the feature film The Music Never Stopped. Now in theaters, the film is a drama directed by Jim Kohlberg that is based on Dr. Oliver Sacks’ case study, “The Last Hippie.” Set in the mid-1980s, the film chronicles the struggles of a father (J. K. Simmons) trying to re-connect with his estranged son (Lou Taylor Pucci), who is recovering from brain surgery that has left him unable to create any long-term memories, effectively stranding him in 1968.
Through the music that embodied the generation gap of the 1960s – particularly Grateful Dead – the father forms a most unusual but emotionally vibrant bond with the son he thought he had lost. Indeed, music plays a vital role in the film, which features songs by Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Steppenwolf, Donovan and the Dead, who wrote the song for which the film is named.

Wonderful performance by Bob! Cool to hear how much he's doing (and, indeed, has always been responsible for) on Music Never Stopped & The Other One..... Lot of cool work on Loose Lucy, too (and it's one he sings great ~ saw a really hot one with the Dead a few years ago...). Very nice. Great song selection. Wish I'd'a been there.
Just one more amazing piece of history...thank you Dead.Net for sharing...
I'm looking forward to taking my son to see this...
