Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music by the Grateful Dead from three good years in Dead history, 1974, 1982 and 1990.
Our first stop this week is at Winterland in San Francisco on 2/23/74, the middle night of a three night run, where we have three of the new songs released on October 15, 1973 on the Wake Of The Flood record. Row Jimmy; Weather Report Suite> Stella Blue.
Next is music from 2/19/82 in San Diedo, where we have the start of the first set, or Side A of the cassette master, featuring Bertha> Greatest Story Ever Told ; Dire Wolf ; Little Red Rooster ; Brown Eyed Women ; Cassidy; Candyman. The mix during Bertha takes a bit of time to get rolling, with Jerry's guitar coming and going, but once it settles down, the mix is just fine.
Lastly this week, from the first show of 1990 on 2/25/90 in Oakland, CA, we have the start of the second set, featuring China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Just A Little Light ; Estimated Prophet > Eyes Of The World.
Be sure to stop by next week for more tunes from the vault.
