We're happy to announce the arrival of Road Trips Volume 3 Number 1 and Jerry Garcia Band: Keystone Berkeley.
To celebrate, we've been streaming select tracks - like this very special song from the latest Jerry Garcia Band release, Let It Rock.
Friend Of The Devil (Keystone Berkeley, 11/17/1975)
(player takes a minute to load - but it's worth the wait!)
Nicky sure lays down a sweet groove right from the start, and Jerry's playing on top makes it even sweeter. Very tasty stuff.
Must have more!
michael falcaro he never seems to amaze me.no materr who what where.believe me if they played 1000 time 995 were to mavalous for words. the 5 freakimg amazing
This is probly the one song that put me on a search for more Garia/Hopkins stuff. I do have this recording but its not as complete as the vault version. I will be ordering this for sure. Do yourself a favor and get as much of this music as you can because this is Jerry at his finest. Just pure and fluid guitar.
A friend of mine shared a house w/ John Kahn for a while and brought me some pics of them(him and John) setting up for recording. This is in a college music room in the Bay area. In one pic John is playing the three story organ thats behind. These pics are from '65. These are personal photos and I dont think they have really been seen by many people. Crazy man, just crazy.
Someone earlier mentioned all the great shows at The Keystone in Berkeley. I have another recomindation. Legion of Mary: Keystone, Berkeley 7-22-74. The 'Whats Going On' instrument is out of this world.
I'm so excited I cant spell..... Garcia/ Hopkins.....and yes, the rest of the show is this good.
The organ was at Pomona State if anyone anted to know.
One of my favorite Jerry Band comfigs. Still have the playbill hand out. Will have to dig it out, pretty sure it was Captital Theatre in Passaic NJ...a jammin night! Thanks Jerry!

Another nod to the late great, great Jerry Garcia. What a great blues number. If this is any indication of the mood and interplay between these 4 talented players, then this is a no brainer. A MUST HAVE!! Jerry will always be on the top of the list when it comes to guitar players. What an amazing talent. Additional hats off to Nicky Hopkins on keys. THIS SOUNDS SIMPLY BLUESY, SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!
