    great fun
GF 82' will always be remembered with a smile. Probably because alot of people got real high that night, but also because the band played loose and it was fun musically. The Jack Straw to open, Deep Elem in the middle of the set and the Lazy Lightnin/Supplication>Bertha to close it were a blast. The China/Rider to open set two was sweet too. Some things to remember about this night is they made an announcement about bad acid going around which most likely freaked out a bunch of people , myself included. It didn't affect me but I guess a few people didn't have the good time I did. Also Garcia coming out and saying "he was sorry they were late but certain members of the rhythm section couldn't make it here on time" , then joking how he is never late to a rock -n-roll show. Great way to start the evening. I guess this is why they seemed loose. Hey, it's upstate NY let's play some music! And that they did. If you don't have tapes of this show it's worth checking out. Just a solid show in the middle of a tour in and once again proving that they like to play north of NYC!

a verry cool venue indeed, those upstate shows were so special.. this one was no exception..it seemed the entire room was out there... for sure verry kind vibe,, the set list looks average but the band was soo on this night..a lazy lightnen for the ages seemed to lift the building... one of those long sweet china riders also..playin and the wheel also shone... if you were there you most likely got dosed by it...

Nice small town upstate NY show. Remember those? Highlight was the Lazy Lightning/Supplication jam.

The China>Rider from this show is long, slow and dreamy, much like the '74 versions of this song. I remember being kind of bored with the set list at the time (3 songs before drums, what's up with that?), but in retrospect, this is one of the most interesting shows of the early '80's. Playing jam is stellar and the little Egyptian-like jam out of the drums is unique. This one is a keeper.
