Corrupted another...

Drove from Cincy with a friend; the same friend who went with me to Riverbend in '86, Bloomington, MN in '88, and had the bad manners to schedule his wedding on the same day as Buckeye Lake in '88 (which, after his divorce, he admitted was a case of mistaken priorities). We stayed with an army buddy of his in Milwaukee and we took this guy to the show. The newbie wore waffle stompers, jeans, flannel shirt, and a John Deere hat, and never looked or felt out of place. We had hooked another one.

Pilgrimage to Mecca

The first day at Mecca we spent all afternoon asking passers-by for tix, which were scarce. One guy chastised us for arriving without tix and said we were ruining the scene... But, I always found tix this way. A guy I met at Madison Sq Gardens in '88 showed up with his Mom and Miracled me! The boomers kicked in hard as the show started with Half-step. The stadium looked so small... it was maybe 13,000 people. This was like a home game for me as many of us came together from Madison. The first set rocked, with many highlights, but the second set was incredible. I was dancing barefoot to Playin' when my friend grabbed my arm and insisted I come to the hallways with him. This was my 7th show but I had never seen a full-on hallway dance session before. Every person I could see was dancing, spinning, or rotating. Everyone was perfectly distanced. The person that interested me the most was the hot dog sales girl behind a counter. You could tell she couldn't believe what she was witnessing and her jaw had dropped. She stared at us with tongs in hand. I stayed in the halls for the rest of the set. Morning Dew was awesome. When it ended I had to re-find my spot where my shoes and wallet were. They were still there! I never lost faith for a second.
