    Rupp Arena Lexington Ky 1978

Unfortunately, when Phil invited the kids to come down to the empty seats on the floor, the security threw them out of the arena rather than sending them back to their seats. One guy next to us on the front row kept dancing and the cops literally pulled him by his ankles while he held on to the back of his seat and threw him out…right in front of the band. That is why the second set was absolute fire with a viscous Samson & Delilah….and a Stella Blue that was chosen for So Many Roads box set. Drums featured the entire band playing percussion utilizing the best state of the art PA system (at that time)in brand new Rupp Arena (PA was/is actually called “Big Bertha”!) that threw the sound around the hall…awesome. But NO US Blues! Must have been an extra song from another show on the tapers list, cuz they turned the lights on during Werewolves and ushered everyone out…Phil in werewolf mask and all.
