Was anyone in the parking lot, when the hippies pulled down the chain-link fence and started rushing the venue?
The thick-armed short-hairs started busting heads.. it was ugly.
I was shrooomen' and remember that I went around the side, was laying down in the mud, thinking they were trying to get me.. and I decided that I didn't like the vibe in L.A. at all...
My first show, I have the bootleg from the second set..
Awesome Aiko>Playin>Uncle Johns second set opener.
I would like to find a good first set bootleg, though...
I remember being well dosed and walking out of the show in a knot of about 30 people when 2 of the "thick-armed short-hairs" started harassing a guy that was WAY dosed and out there...
They were going to detain him when all 29 or so of us concert-goers, stopped and all turned around IN UNISON, and stared down the cops. They were SO freaked out! We gathered up that poor soul, put him back in the middle of the group and went on out to the parking lot. Talk about social consciousness...
I blew it and taped setting up the seva table...including jets zooming in the distance and clammering metal & boxes...very nice idiocy tape....my other fav is the one in the car packing back east blooper that segways to bitch and moan with thunder and lightning rain sounds, "ooooh"

I went to this show with my friend Diana Milbert and Scotty Reynolds and I think a friend Sam. Anyways, GDTS was so amazing... Thank you Ruby !!! The pit was literally like having the band in my home, it was that close and it was a huge dancing area where the security protected the space..OMG it was great... a strong tab of something owsley would have been proud of made it even more amazing but when the dead hit the spanish jam other one zone I was seriously scared, I mean crapping in my pants scared, wow. I think it was also damp and raining, after the near death (haha) all was better and healed by the time stones ended...
Very memorable...
didn't really know what i was in for..my friend Eric needed a ride so i got to go,we had a whippet tank in the back seat and i even got a ticket for a joint in the parking lot b4 the show..but good times were ahead in the show..2nd show wasn't until almost 3 years where i began the 1st of 90 or so shows..and 'the meeting guy' above has his years mixed up i think..i am pretty sure that was in '87 when the fences came down,i was there for all 3 shows...PEACE
