Big Boss Man
Anyone catch the Big Boss Man played over the PA before the show started? I remember hearing it and saying to my friends that it would be cool if the boys played it that night and they did. Very cool.
On the Road to Telluride
Hadn't planned on seeing this one -- actually had some money (how'd THAT happen?) and was flying from east coast to Telluride for those shows. Got to Denver and picked up a car from Rent-A-Wreck. Usually those cars are just a bit older; not quite up to Hertz or Avis standards, but this one really was a wreck.
Started driving to Telluride and realized that we were going to drive right near Red Rocks. What's the point of going -- tickets are always a nightmare to find there. But we thought we would give it a try. Sure enough, 10 million bozos standing by the side of the ride, all looking for extra tickets. In a fever we put on the rubber Richard Nixon mask that we were carrying with us and started jumping up and down and screaming at cars going by, and snagged two tickets in no time. I am not a crook!
I do believe that this was the show with the Gimme Some Lovin with the boys singing, "We're going to KICK ASS like everybody should..."

Great memories of these CO shows
Yup, we drove from Illinois to Red Rocks then onto Telluride. Many fond memories here. We had a 10 month old son then, who's now 20 and attending Boulder CU! Goes around and round!I remember seeing the Lesh's with their new son walking around town one day, (he must also be 20ish).
We camped between 2 sets of great folks, one of which we STILL are in contact with every Christmas. Hi Jim H!
Before the band started to come on stage, Bobby and ___? started singing an old folkish song a capella, and had a log that they drummed on. Anyone remember that?
It was the time of a 'Harmonic Convergence' in space and during the day there were people worshipping with (Eastern/India) music and dancing in the lawn by the stage during the day.
I was sooo sad to see the Telluride shows end. This festival was probably one of my fondest Dead memories.
Peace, Anni
Ripped for tickets...
This just started happening... Bogus tickets, drove a few days early and found tickets really fast... This was something new and the 1st night we get threw parking and then the biggest let down, BOGUS TICKETS... So we were f**ked for all three days... Finally the last show we got in... Still a great time and they caught the ticket thieves and we were suppose to get some of our money back but never did... Who cares about the money missed two great shows...
