I was at this show and completely forgot...maybe thats a good thing
This was my last show. Standing on the floor watching Jerry step up to the mic to sing one of my favortie all time Dead songs as an opener (1/2 Step) and he could not remember any words for over a minute and hung his head in drugged out shame. It was sad and and I felt pity for him. On the flipside the 94 and 95 shows do not get enough credit for how HOT the rest of the band was. Listen to Summer shows from both years and try and tune out Jerry (tough I know). The drummers and Vince in particular really stepped up.

i know that i had made a vow ('87?) to not attend BIG areana's but a friend had 5 row left (phil) and didn't say no....it's a sahme about jer..addiction is powerful..cunning..baffleing and progressive..not even the things that are important mean anything nay more..nothing!
great foolish heart. rest of the show is best forgotten. shows like this kind of forced me off the bus. a shell of the grate band that they were. if i missed traffic the day would have been a major waste of time. i never realized what a great band traffic is live. and with jerry showing up for fantasy he didnt really offer anything.
This was the worst Dead show I ever saw. (I give it 1 star). Hate to say it. When we left, my friend Jason said, "Maybe it's time to stop seeing the Dead." However, they were a lot better the next night-- almost as if they knew they had to make up for this dreary show. And then, the Fall shows at Madison Square Garden were a LOT better. Go figure.
I was so waisted I only rember Suger mags.
This show was my then girlfriend now wife first show. She didn't understand at the time what is was all about and unfortuntatly these show's were not a good example but she got to see some.
The highlight of the show for me was when Jerry stepped out and did Dear Mr. Fantasy with Traffic. The rest of the show was not so memorable, but I'm always with them through the good, the bad, and the ugly. We all have dark moments in our lives. That was my last Grateful Dead concert.....
Yep, this was a sad note to go out on... I wasn't even pissed about my friends brother stealing my next nights ticket... I had one hell of a time in the lot tripping my face off and drinking enough to kill several not so practiced alcoholics... The Sugar Mag was a GOD SEND and I only wish I knew enough to appreciate the Liberty encore... I was actually pretty pissed off about that making to encore status so early in its life.... Now a much older and sober man I have come to the realization that every note, every song, every tour, is a GIFT that could be taken from us at any time. More importantly is knowing that sooner or later it surly will. 2011 and I am getting ready and making plans for my summer shows. Family life kept the GIANT spring run to only one show in Binghamton NY. But what a show it was.... Peace Out My Brothers...
