WOW ! I so happy to be kickin'back here in the 21st century, almost 30 years after the Grateful Dead performed this run of shows and privileged to be enjoying another, CRiSP, FLAWLESSLY- SWEET, TOTAL SOUNDBOARD playback of a COMPLETE SHOW via GDRadio.net. The encores from this show features Etta James who recently passed. She fought a battle with blood cancer and recently passed at age 73. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/20/etta-james-dead-legendary_n_12… Here are a few reasons that I love GD Radio playbacks of shows: -GD Radio's output levels are right up to zero w/o clipping. - A simple 2 channel stereo playback has Jerry's vocal /guitar plus Brent's vocal / B3 organ out of the Right Speaker. Bobby's vocal / plus his inserted trademark guitar effects are from the Left Channel Speaker. This is proper setup for shows done since April 2, 1982 when Jerry n Phil switched positions permanently - I only have a sirius free trial from Furthur NYE 2011 to compare. My opinion today is that GDRadio blows away Sirius. It seems to me that GDRadio does more production behind the scenes to give me a very consistent listening experience. Sirius levels are whatever the source is. Which is OK but it makes alot of work for the listener on my end. Different itunes EQ's for individual setlist is too much. GD Radio always gives me that vibe from the 80's of acquiring a low-generation recording. This show does just that. - needs NO tone adjustment. Bass and treble at zero, NO EQ - balance DEADCenter, - comfort-lounger located in the "Sweet Spot" of my listening room. I am so happy to donate $10 bucks here and there, but I am also disable from Leukemia. And like many others, our lives are in a permanent limbo. Listening to a complete show with 3 hours of pristine Jerry puts a smile on the faces. Cheers

I went to this concert with my friend Randy Tuten. We had both decided that we were not going to go to NYE because it was just too much and they usually didn't play that great. So we went to this show and enjoyed it alot. Loved Etta James and Tower of Power horn section!!! Very early the next morning Randy and I hopped into a rent-a-wreck station wagon and drove to L.A. and spent NYE with some of his friends in Topanga Canyon...it was a VERY strange evening... Thank you, and Stay In Touch!

Boys were "on the run" with this show..... how many of you DHers out there seem to recall how many great shows were held immediately prior to those always fun New Years' bashes...the bashes of course being the ultimate party, but the quality, killer music being the night before.

This along with '85's 12/30 show rank amongst the best of that genre, with obviously 1985 being the one true "sixth man" show, especially when Mighty Quinn opened the second set.... ahhhhh... to drift and dream..
