    Mardi Gras 1988

I attended all four shows in this series. I remember smokinghash and drinking rum & coke in the bar. I remember ripping off my shirt during Me And My Uncle when Bobby sang "I took Off my shirt." This was a pretty intense show. A woman named Liz came up to me after the show and put her hand on my shoulder and said "Breathe". She did this several times before exiting the show. She seemed to be very together.

    I loved the Blase
This is not to take anything away from how others liked there shows to be. Is just my thoughts .To me I always preferred the west coast crowd. Northern west coast to be more exact. I enjoyed those laidback crowds, not the screaming and rowdy east crowd. Plus the way the band played seemed to me to more comfortable in that environment. I feel they were a bit more trippy out west.

    Set List Correction
If I'm not mistaken "Rhythm Devils" or "Drums" actually opens the Second Set followed by Iko Iko in addition to where it is in this set list. I was listening to this show on GD Radio and heard it "first hand" and noticed it notated that way at Archive.Org Mahalo for your consideration to update this set list.

I went to this show and the one on the 14th. These were my first Bay Area shows. I was disapointed. I was used to East Coast zealotry. The crowd was blase and the performances unspectacular. I thought to myself as Bob was singing something that Bob was probably thinking "Now don't forget to pick up that gallon of milk on the way home tonight...."
