    line up

One other band played to open, a local band called Josephus. They were followed by Beautiful Day, John Mayall, QMS, and then the Dead, who played until the power was cut and then one acoustic song after that. My ticket was $12.50

Also on the bill were Quicksilver Messenger Service, It's a Beautiful Day, and John Mayall with Duster Bennett. The Sunday afternoon show ran kinda long and the people running the hall needed to clear everyone out to make room for wrestling that night. The police made their presence known and the Dead's set was shortened. I remember Bob Weir talking about the situation with a riot-helmeted Houston PD officer. If memory serves, the boys ended the day with "And We Bid You Goodnight."

    Houston show 1970
First time to see the Dead. They were there with other bands, they played one song: A totally rockin' long Lovelight. I was 17 years old and everyone was dancing.
