This three day run was a

This three day run was a wonderful time and a very specail event for all of us who attended. However, this last night was the only Dead show I ever walked out of before it ended. It had rained literally all day and night long, and being in Wisconsin, even though it was summer, it was in the 40's and very windy, rainy and cold.Brrrrrr......

Miles Garcia

We were lucky, our seats all three nights were under the roof. This night, we went in the moment the gates opened to take advantage of the shelter. As we're walking down, some nice Miles Davis was coming out of the speakers. Up front, we realize that it's Jerry, all by himself, with his guitar set to sound like Miles.

These three shows were magical for me. We also had seats down under cover so the rain was a non-issue while the shows were on.

I can't remember anything sounding bad...what a place and what a band. Scene was much more laid back that the EAST COAST but still very rockin!!

In the my top 5....

This Alpine run especially the 19th were some of the best of 89' - that says alot in a very incredable year!!

Opening up w/ bucket then sugaree, amazing!
(one of my fav sugaree's)

Well played versions of, Mexicali Blues, Althea,
Victim or the Crime

An Epic ->West L.A
Wiht Row -> Deal (smokin') ending the set. Arguably one of the best first sets ever played!!

Second Set was the golden nugget for this show!
And awesome B.O.R which set the PERFECT setting for one of the best, if not THE best foolish heart the band ever played!! -> L.L.R

Ending this monster with other one-> wheel->DEW!!!
AMAZING!!!!! That night the universe stood still for about 3 hours..

Never made it to this show but have seen it on DVD!!

Fireflys!

Crazy heat the first day gave way to rainstorms that left the camping area a muddy mess. I'd lived in CA for several years, and during this run I saw fireflys(!!) for the first time since I'd left home (NY.)

stayed in the truck

oh we made it through the show and took off our muddy stuff and were wrapped up in our respective sleeping bags carlos the jackal and I in the back of Mr Marc's covered truck when, he started to drive off and the vehicle got stuck in the mud. I want to thank all the people who helped push us out cause there was no way I was getting out to help at that point...did I say I love those guys...

Fantastic show. I don't

Fantastic show. I don't remember much because I had a sugar cube melt in my pocket after half a window pane was already in my system. I too got stuck in the mud and two smiles and four eyes surrounded by mud came out of the mirky night to push me back to the road. I still wish I could say thanks to those two. I was completely lost for the whole show. But it all came flooding back when I got ahold of a very high quality bootleg. I lost it last year in a fire along with another 200 or so. I just got Fallout from the Phil Zone and the Box of Rain brought tears to my eyes.
