    Birthday Show

For whatever reason, the Dead rarely have played on my birthday. The time of the year of my birthday is the perfect time to hear my favorite band. In my mind I always remember the night before as being better. However, I did sneak in the the pavilion seats right as Help started. H S F is one of my favorite song sequences (of course). I wore out One from the vault listening to the Great American Music Hall '75 version so it was very cool to get it on my birthday. When I first started seeing the Dead in 1989 that song had been on hiatus since 1984. They brought it back at the Warlocks shows (Hamptons '89) and i always felt lucky to see one. I realized at the time how special this was to be in a corn field with Jerry and the boys and my brethren Deadheads and it will always be fixed in my mind as a beautiful daydream.

Great second set! This was a birthday show for me, and I had a fantastic time. the second of two nights. I enjoyed the entire show, but comming out of (well sort of) space they went into a loose dreamy kind of Watchtower followed by A version of Days which littlerally had my wife in tears. Such a bittersweet masterpiece. Fortunately the band kicked us some Good Lovin' before sending us on our way. with a smile!! It was a moment indeed! Music is Magic

A kick-ass end to 3 days at Deer Creek. Help>Slip>Franklins>Drums>Space totally blew my mind... this part of the night was a peak experience for me.For some reason I have real soft spot for the Liberty encore... those were the days... so sweet... willeye, your wife was not the only one in tears... glad we were there together.

this show was interesting, more intense than the night before, greatest story was good, not a real standout, if the shoe fits ,was kind of that phil rock tune which was a way overdue, almost a biker kind of tune which was a throwback for groove's sake I never cared for women are smarter for a opener of the second set - I always liked way to go home becuase jerry got to accompany lead guitar, something he hasn't done since the days of pigpen, great blues type of form too and very true about the experience of probably being in the GD the highlight was slipknot was pretty long and nice placed inside pre-drums, as for drums and space were the most intense on this night, days between had begun to mature it seemed that the GD in 94 were a little apprehensive about loosing healy, and the PA sound really blew, and they knew it probably, they probably won't admit about the loss of healy, I heard alot of rumors, but something must of happened with his professionalism, I would hate to find out that it was personal crap over something that should be argued or suspected anyway, it wasn't until summer and later the GD found a sound in 1994 Ursa Minor I wish that for just one time, You could stand inside my shoes, and for just that one moment, I could be you - Bob Dylan, Positively 4th St.

I remember outside either was one hellof a scene the Indiana boys had the dogs out and an element was starting to grow that was foreshadowing things to come. like craziness we all formed a circle outside

by this time, Deer Creek turned into, 'a field day for the heat'. The sound was pretty wonky. And still, we all had fun.

didn't they release the dogs on some kids trying to rush the hill and hop the fence? I also, remember being inside and seeing kids pooring over the walls on the first night which i think lead the cops into "lock down" mode.

2nd Jack-A-Roe in 3 nights- and Jerry nailed this one dead after a couple lyrical miscues the first night of run. He did botch Stagger Lee and Days Between pretty much. But if I recall he nailed Days Between 3 nights later at Soldier Field. Don't want this to be viewed as nitpicking. I obviously care enough to have made a mental note.
