    All present?
Does anyone know what musicians that were present but not on the schedule. I seem to remember more Musicians on and off the stage, than what are listed as attending.

    Two chicks and the guy
Yes, I saw those two chicks running after (one naked) and catching that guy jerking his pants and she mounted him. WOW that is an indelible memory set in my mind for all time. I told that story yesterday to a Dead Head fan.

Geohuntr - This was an unbelievable experience for me and a few friends. An old high school buddy had moved to Petaluma, CA and started a glass blowing studeo. I think some of the Dead were just down the road - anyway he knew some of them. He was also a great pilot. He flew a few of us to Eugene, OR with backstage passes to this concert. So we were right up front for the Outlaws & Santana - wow! Than I think some woman named Virginia? Ok'd it for us to go up on the stage - we stood just to the left of Garcia; behind the amps. There were about 4 of us and a couple other guys; I think Ken Kesey's brother. Beautiful day and great crowd. It was incredable to see Garcia playing right next to us. Nobody shot any pictures - I would love to have a photo of the band/stage taken that day.

This was a swell show. I danced untill my feet cramped up and just kept dancing. Carlos Santana had entered his Devadip phase and this would lay the spiritual foundation that keeps him going today. I remember Phil dropping the bombs during the space section that seemed to make way for the finale and cleared the house of any non believers.I then went to my first and last Rainbow gathering in the Umpquah National Forest.

On paper, this show's second set looks like a clone of 6/4/78 as there is only one song difference (The Dead never did this since the 60s when their setlists contained little variation). However, the playing at each show is much different so both shows are worth the listen.

This was my very first concert. I was 13. I grew up on the McKenzie river. Some friends of my parents took me. The only other time I saw the dead was in '87 with Bob Dylan-also in Eugene.

Best moment of this show: 50,000 heads jumping in unison on the upstroke of the riff during Around and Around, especially those on the field who could jump harder and catch some good air. Me? Already up there, no need to jump. Outlaws good, Carlos good, Dead really good. Eddie Money, not so much

What a memory! We were living out in Central Oregon (Prineville) for my first radio job. My wife was visiting her parents in NY and I started my drive alone at 3:30am to make it in time to get to the show. Around 9am or so, Eddie Money came on and started everything off with the comment, "I'll bet you didn't know you were going to have the Eddie Money Band for breakfast". The day was a great time and for me, I was burnt out on the sunshine of Central Oregon and was happy to get back to my place of power (Carlos Castaneda reference) in the Willamette Valley. It was a long day and I recall sitting up on the top rings of Autzen Stadium at the Dead set break and watching streams of non-Deadheads leaving the venue. At the same time I was enjoying the clouds overhead - I can still see that picture in my mind). Anyway, this show was a great experience and I thank you for bringing the thread up again.

I went to Oregon Pen for Sales of LSD. I was accused of working with Ken K. and his bunch of crazy's. If I would help to set them up they would concider lessening my sentense of 3 years with no paroleNaturally I knew nothing of what they were talking about. Oddly enough I was living a few miles away from Kens Farm. Bobby Peterson was a big support for me in those days..

As a young 19 year old Englishman, I hitched half way accross the States for this show. It was that important. Strongest memory was successfuly smuggling in my cassette recorder disguised as tinfoil-wrapped sandwiches.Anxious moments ! Wasn't the greatest Dead show I've seen, but it was the 1st and a great memory for that.

I had escaped! Got a reprieve from haulin' water, choppin' wood and changin' diapers! I decided to hitch from Mendocino to the show up in Portland. Oddly, enough Eddie, Wade, and Tina, picked me up just south of Redway. Good thing too, I'd got too old to hitch-hike anymore. Got up the next mornig to a big breakfast - about 15 of us took over the local diner. When low 'n' behold! Sharon shows up with baby Aden in arms! So goes my wild-weekend as a bachelor! The show was great, got well-dosed. As I was dancin' my ass off, some Eddie Money fan and her boyfirend ask, "Hey buddy, can you do that somewhere's else?" I just looked around and said, "You know I've tried, but to tell ya the truth, up front at a Grateful Dead concert is really the only place I CAN dance like this!" Later that night, Eddie, Wade, Sharon and I stayed up late talkin' crazy post-show acid-babble. Some poor over-dosed college-kid was hiding under a blanket listening to us. Every now and then he'd stick his head out, look at us in terror and then pull his head back in. We tried reassure him that everything was cool, but he just wasn't havin' it!. Later, JiJi
