We caught this after the

We caught this after the Madison show which was a foot stomping, smoking HOT show. I remember just being really tired at this show and just kicking back and soaking it in.

This show is not the best on tape, but it is still one of my all time favorite Jack Straw. It's hard to explain this, but the jam just sounds like the Dead machine churning. I love Phil's bass pops at the end too. The rest of the show was so-so.

Two things I remember from this show: Deadheads slam dancing in the hall, and a couple having sex under the bleachers in full view of everyone near them. There weren't many of us, and we were cool with it... we figured they thought they were alone, or couldn't tell they weren't alone.

hot day, good show

The day of the show it was hot, and we really didn't have any sort of shade. Being young then, of course we drank beer thinking it would refresh us. Got into the venue and saw this dude with a mohawk, I remember. Then there was a couple there dancing who'd just gotten married, in their wedding clothes no less. I liked the first set quite well, one of only a few Lazy Lightnin>Supplications I ever saw.
