going down the road

Extremely hot day, Merna was 7 months pregnant looking like she swallowed a watermelon, kid was doing laps during the second set. Broke a clutch cable in our VW bus on the way back to Reno. Merna stuck her thumb out and we got a ride withn minutes on 80. Driver took us to friends house who had a friend who had a bus and an extra cable. The one in mine was the extra cable. Never made that mistake again. Music Never Stopped was my fav of the night.

Not like the year before

Was at this show. At the time, I was getting more involved in "born-againism". So, that was where my head was at. Went to show, had a package of material I wanted the band to see, but didn't know how to deliver it. Package contained printed material, religious stuff. I thought to myself, "how to get it to them." I wrapped it up, drew a drawing of a skull, ala Dead. When the show was drawing to a close, I got up front, I had to throw the package somehow onto the stage, without damaging anything and...not drawing any attention, lest I'd get into trouble. So, said a prayer, and tossed it. It landed on some cable near Jerry. I saw it! Mission accomplished!
A year later the new album came out. It was called "Go to Heaven." I wonder if the boys saw the package. Were they influenced by it? I'll never know.

Show itself...rather forgettable. I do remember Eyes of the World. that's about it. One more thing...remember seeing two dead-heads, completely staring at each other. Like telepathy or something. Very strange!
