Actually it WAS the 28th

I'm staring at the ticket stub...it is June 28th. Anywhooo...On the back of my stub, I used to write down the set lists. I must have liked this one..."unREAL 2nd Set!!!" I remember the Scarlet> Fire was absolutely smokin'.

last SPAC show

Too bad SPAC got over runned at this show by too many heads as they could not and would never again be able to play here. Unfortunate as they always ripped it here. They still own the record for attendance and is marked on the lawn still to this day. I live in Saratoga now and it bugs me when people talk about Dave Matthews selling out multiple nights there. I wish the Dead were allowed to play here two nights but it was never to be. Now they cap the attendance. So the record still stands. DMB will hold the record for most sellouts due to the cap but no one will match the rain soaked nights in Saratoga that made 83',84',85', and this last one in 88' so special. IF you don't have tapes of any of these shows I suggest you get them. SPAC rocked!

crazy & hazy memories of this night

There was a bad scene in the first set when buttheads charged the ramp to the shed during Candyman. There was a scuffle with security on the ramp. Then the skies opened up during Masterpiece and chilled everybody out. The downpour stopped in time for a heartfelt Row Jimmy with everybody on the lawn soaked and huddling for warmth.
