Around and Around
my brother and I arrived at show time. we parked the car and complete forgot to note the location. after the show we looked for at least an hour and a half before finding it. the palace is a round building that looks the same on every side. the security guys in golf carts were driving around "go home deadheads" trying to get us to clear out. i would have been glad to.
china cat - i know you rider clahsic!
you don't here many good things about '93..
but i really like this show. the H/S/F was pretty hot anyway. nice to hear LL too!
Great 1st Set !
Of all the Dead shows I've attended I really enjoyed the opening trio of Help on the Way>Slipknot>Franklin's Tower. They are some of my favorite songs and I knew we were in for a great time! And yes, the security that night were bullys. They were, indeed, driving around on golf carts herding Deadheads like we were cattle!
really good show
i just listened to this one again, and i'd just like to reiterate that this is a very good show. jerry just drives the band right through this one. bobby sounds horse, but jerry's inspired the whole night. great versions of h/s/f, loose lucy, bertha, china->rider, the entire terrapin -> jam -> drums segment, and an amazing wharf rat. liberty and wave to the wind even sound good due to jerry's righteous and dare i say virtuoso (in 1993?) jamming throughout the entire show.
My Private Show From Jerry To Me
After mail ordering around 90 or so tickets from GD and never once asking for anything except for "anything", I decided this was going to be one of my last shows for some reason, and asked for a really good seat. "please, just once I want to see the band up close and witness the magic." I got SEction B Row 2 Seat 8. Directly in front of Jerry! Ok, I was completely mesmerized by the sheer exchange of energy. It was like the band sucked my energy to create this amazing show. Jerry seemed to play the entire show to me staring into my eyes. It pierced my soul, made my heart soar, and seemed to complete my Grateful Dead experience. I knew that I had had my full benefit of the music, and that they all gave so much to me in that moment and in every other moment that I've ever listened to them since that day. Something utterly other worldly was happening to me, through Jerry. I was born on July 27th. Terrapin Station was released on that day (a few years later) and I believe that for whatever reason I share a special connection to Jerry and when they play Terrapin this night he left the place he had previously been somehow. He was making a transition. He cried to me through wharf rat and I consoled him with my attention, energy, and the knowledge that for whatever reason: we share a special Terrapin bond. I love you Jerry, thanks for this show. It's truly MINE!!!
