    St. Ste (ops) Patty's day
What a show. Let me tell you this, as a kid I wanted to be like the CHP bike officer who would sit at the end of our block to get speeders and stop sign runners. So I had cleaned up my act to try and get on the force, as a result I was told by the now ex "wifey" and Scott that sober I was even louder and more obnoxious. What I remember most about this show was not Train to Silgo or the band being late. It was after being "Stuck in Mobile" the boys giving each other high five's. And our amazement at what we had just heard that first set and thinking about waht was to follow. Need less to say you just have to look at the set list to know it was one rip-snortin show. And no I guess I had a slightly too colorful back round and I was not accepted into the CHP. Oh well time to go back to the decadent life! What do you call a fan of the Grateful Dead? A dead head What do you call a fan of John Mellencamp? A mellen head What do you call a fan of Air Suppiy?

    The Boys were late...
... and the Trail to Sligo band had to do their set twice to fill time, right? I also remember somebody (Bobby?) as having a sore throat?? I always really liked the scene in the park opposite the HenryJ... Never had such a good time...

    I took the bus
from San Rafael to Saint Patrick and met a friend to drive to the show with a pot of gold backdrop near rainbows, clover, mushrooms and a pipe. Colorful geometric shapes circled around in the air and changed with the music. Seemed like it was all in slow-motion moving out from the middle 'til it came on like thunder and lightning with a great big smile. Happy 20th Anniversary! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So swift and bright, Strange figures of light Float in air" Robert Hunter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When Hamza came out, I was convinced they were gong to play St. Stephen. We got they Hey Jude instead but with the energy and GDTRFB, I thought we were set up for a classic revisiting of GDTRFB>St. Stephen. Not to be this night, but one of my favorite shows. I also remember drinking green beer that was being sold in the basement of the Kaiser for St. Patrick's day. Without love in the dream, it'll never come true

I didn't think that was the first time I hear Bobby do Memphis Blues? Is the show still in the top 5 by Relix? If not it should be.
