    I only was able to catch the First Night but I was Thrilled to see them opening show of the tour..,My buddy Simon picked me up from work at La Strada Pizza about 10pm on the 26th and we left Charlotte for Atlanta ,Several hours later we are in Downtown Atlanta and we were following signs to the Omni and the ended and we were lost driving around in some dank part of town that seemed like Black and White television with no color and when it seemed we were doomed all the sudden we turn a corner and it's lit up and all Colorful and we were there and there were little colorful lots with Shakedown street scattered about in small lots . All day on the 27th the weather was perfect and we sold ice cold beer and had a blast even before we went in ..The excitement was in the Air and they didn't disappoint , still One of my Favorite modern Half steps and the Second set is Classic.

    19 years old and a freshmen at Auburn at the time what a great journey began that night at The Omni....nothing like getting a Scarlet>Fire>Estimated>Eyes your 1st show eh? HA HA they also played what I wanted them to play at the time=Touch Of Grey.......We also caught The Grapes at The Variety Playhouse in 5 Points...got to know them really good over the next 5 years.

    I am glad to see that someone else remembers them. They played somewhat regularly around Atlanta during that time. i remember catching shows in Little Five Points and a few other places (names?) that have escaped my memory now but they were a good band.

This is a pretty typical show from the 89 Spring tour, which is a great thing. This is the last time the boys delivered the classic grouping of Scarlet>Fire>Estimated>Eyes. The Built To Last and SOTM are particularly worth finding. Wave that flag!

definately a typical show, but the Fire jam with Jerry screaming in is just insane. I left my feet & wasn't even aware of it.

First show I made it into where I didn't get lost in the lot.. Walking in thru the portal to the floor and seeing the stage with all the equipment around the base and all the little lights. It was like a spaceship ready to launch.. That hum, well the rest is history and a very important part of my life. Oh the Omni, how 'bout that roof?

My birthday show which could have only happened with a true MIRACLE ticket by a wonderful head. Great show followed by going to see THE GRAPES play at this little place in the catacombs. And who knew that Brent Mydland, his wife, and friends would show up too. Anybody else catch the Grapes after?

Indeed, brother! This was my 1st show as well. Some moments an obvious blur; others will be with me into the hereafter, where-ever... Seriously, remember hearing people say, " There's nothing like a Dead show?" Do you remember the moment when those words trickled back into your freshly melted concept of reality and it hit you with profound, deep-soul laughter when you KNEW what that meant? Well, anyway, Cheers!

Dude, that's awesome. Ted Norton, guitarist for the Grapes, is a dear friend. We only met in 2000-ish - but I haven't heard that war story yet. Can't wait to lay that one on him, just to see his face change.
