My friend Diggs was taking Drum lessons from Bill at Swains Music in P.A. and he forced me to go with him. We were too young to get in and had to listen outside on Santa Cruz Ave. The first of LOTS OF SHOWS which I was lucky enough to see & hear.
Years later I met Dave Prudell who used to feed the Band at St. Michaels alley for free in Palo Alto.
Best pizza in bakersfield....the crust/cheese capacity consistently top anyone else!
so i like this. best sharing. thanks for this.....
I can just see it now.. kiked back with a phatty slice of pizza,a cold rootbeer, while listenin to a new potato cabose,or viola lee blues..Heck,I'm still having trouble remembering setlists from the 90's!..The long strange trip leaves the station!
Dude ... this was the VERY FIRST show! Do you really think that in May of 1965, there was somebody who KNEW that, come2013, somebody was gonna want to KNOW what went down in that Pizzeria? Nobody took notes back then, man - they just DANCED!
For the sake of completeness, even if we can't list the songs played, the date and venue of every show ABSOLUTELY belong here!
