    Thirty Years Ago Today
That was a fun show, tremendous arena to see the boys, the stars twinkling on the ceiling were awesome, they opened set two with a little bit of some 'space' before launching half step (first half step into franklins since '82...). Had a great time in the tapers section. Several selections from Blues for Allah and the banner was unfurled behind them.

While waiting to get in, saw this guy turn his jacket inside out, revealing a bright red liner. He grabbed his buddy's arm, and faked him and his buddy in the front door, as a supposed security apprehending a ne'er-do-well.

I thought this was in 1984. But I remember well the last three tunes included Wharf Rat and Brokedown Palace, so I must have been there. (Waiting in line for tickets all night a month earlier was more memorable; throngs of thousands camped out, and it was cold. The marquee announced "Bobby Womack Sept. 28.")

Sat Front Row right in front of Jerry for this one. 2nd set was loads of fun. Phil dropping Bombs during Other One then again during Johnny B. Goode. Last time I would see them in a venue that small...

This place was beautiful. I remember the Blues For Allah Tapestry behind the stage. I recall dropping what was left of a joint and freaked out thinking I burned a hole in the carpet. I feel so fortunate that I was able to see them here. Good shows.

Beautiful venue, forgettable show. I was road-weary at this point and ready to head back to FL. I've sampled the tape and I'll probably let this one fade from my memory completely other than the cool scene surrounding the show.
